We will begin our mosaic course by learning the basics about how people have been making mosaics for centuries. With this information in hand we will then explore the galleries of P.V. and be inspired by the wonderful diversity of Mexican Art - from the Mayans to the Huichols to the moderns. We'll be so 'turned on creatively by the beauty and history of Mexico that the reflection of this will become a part of our own work. The play of light and color, texture and form, will be emphasized.
Arrival on the 5th with a welcome cocktail reception. Classes start after breakfast on the 6th. On our final morning of the 12th we'll discuss the work we have done before we leave. The weeklong workshop includes 6 days instruction and materials - 7 nights lodging.

There will be personal instruction and attention given to all.

Moving only a short distance away from the ocean you quickly step into old Mexico. With the beach only blocks away, Hacienda Mosaico offers a quiet, friendly, residential neighborhood and the convenience of a central location. Here it is possible to experience the "Real Mexico".
Facility Information:
This workshop is open to everyone - the beginner who seeks a safe non-competitive atmosphere as well as those who have more experience and enjoy 'creating' while on vacation. We'll be using Italian Glass Mosaic Tiles - Smalti and Vitreus - a large variety of colors. If you have something special in mind to include in your work, please bring it along. We will work our mosaics on light weight mesh so that they can be easily carried home.
