The painting week offers students the opportunity to explore the varied facets of the landscape: medieval villages like Minerve and the vineyards around, views from the slopes of Mount Alaric, the garrigue with its wild flowers, herbs and cypresses, and the shady waters of the Canal du Midi, a world heritage site.
Faculty Information:
Diane Olivier is a well-known artist and teacher in San Francisco. She has taught at the University of Cincinnati, at San Jose State and currently at City College of San Francisco. Her work has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum NY, the Richmond Art Center CA, the Palo Alto Art Center, CA, and she has received several awards and endowments. She is represented by the Dorothy Weiss Gallery, San Francisco, CA.
Other Activities:
Students will work in the mornings, leaving the afternoons free to relax, explore or continue painting. The studio is spacious, and is open all day. There are easels, support boards and aprons available. Art supplies should be brought by students themselves.
Facility Information:
The week is structured around the needs of each individual. There is an extensive library of art books and magazines relatng to art and artists
