Our company runs custom photography trips and workshops in India, suitable for both beginners as well as pros looking to increase coverage of certain subjects. Our trips cover select destinations:
- For mountain/nature enthusiasts, we offer trips to the more remote regions of the Himalayas. These can be as rugged or as luxurious as you want (the latter within reason, of course) and you get a chance to explore valleys and lakes that other people have never seen - either by 4WD or on foot. Our Himalayan trips cover Ladakh and Sikkim, and we are working on adding itineraries covering the unexplored Northeast regions as well.
- For people/culture enthusiasts, we offer Rajasthan, the land of kings & forts and arguably the most popular tourist destination in India. Our trips take cover both the highlights and also the lesser known destinations. For a taste of something different, we offer a guided tour of Goa, with its Portuguese origins and sun-drenched beaches.
- For wildlife lovers, we visit Ranthambhore, Corbett and Bandhavgarh national parks - the best parks in India. With our carefully selected team of guides, you have the best chance of observing both the larger, as well as the smaller and more overlooked species. We also have special birding itineraries to select hotspots in the Himalayas and elsewhere.
- For underwater enthusiasts, we offer private diving & photography safaris in the uncharted waters of the Andaman Islands with our Havelock-based dive center.
All trips are accompanied by a professional photographer and can be run as regular tours or photography workshops.
Faculty Information:
Our tours are led by professional photographers who know not only the area being visited but also the subject at hand.
The company was formed by Vandit Kalia, who has been exploring the more remote parts of India since the early 1990s, and who knows things like the best place *period* to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga, which is the best route in Ranthambhore to see tigers in a given month, how to get away from the normal tourist traps in Rajasthan and where to see 1 of the 3-4 pairs of black-necked cranes in India.
Other Activities:
We can also organize other general sight-seeing activities - especially useful for non-photographer spouses and children - to run in conjunction with, or before/after the photography session.
Facility Information:
Photo Safari India provides everything needed to have a comfortable and productive trip. This includes accommodation in comfortable to luxurious resorts, access to regularly-updated laptops loaded with the latest photo-processing software, spare tripods and heads, emergency storage and more.
