The best way to learn German is by learning it in Germany. Learning German in German surroundings is both quicker and more efficient than learning German in a non-German speaking environment. You will not only learn in our classrooms. Besides lessons, your stay will be enriched by contact with native speakers at your course location.
* The optimal learning group: We will find the optimal learning group for you. The course participants will be put into different classes according to their previous knowledge of German. At the beginning of the course there will be a written assessment test and an interview which will determine the right level for you.
Our teaching methods - we use a variety of instructional methods. You will learn:
- through interviews, discussions and role plays
- through work with the whole class, with a partner, in small groups and on your own.
From day one, the teaching language will be German.
* Course contents: During the course, you will learn everything your need to communicate in German: correct use of language, good pronunciation, reading, writing and grammar. Your interests are important to us. In class, you can introduce subjects that are important to you personally or professionally.
* Learning progress and exams: Your language abilities will be assessed at the beginning of the course, and at regular intervals there will be brief tests during class. This way you will be able to track your progress. At the end of the course you will receive:
- proof of attendance with optional assessment
- a certificate after passing an examination.
* Courses: Not only will you learn German intensively, you will also really get to know Germany and its people in a convenient way. The teaching language will be German from day one. You can choose the intensive course that suits your needs an timetable best: 4 or 8 weeks or a course of variable duration.
- Intensive courses:
Offer 20 and 25 teaching units of 45 minutes each per week in groups of up to 12 participants. Lessons take place Monday to Friday. We offer courses throughout the year. There are no lessons on bank holidays and during the Christmas break. After you have successfully completed a course level, you can continue each course on the next level.
- Individual courses:
Of course one-to-one teaching is possible at our institute. Additionally, we offer tailor-made courses to suit your needs, either at the institute or your own location. Company courses, crash courses etc. no problem at all: We will be happy to advise you.
- Course German:
A eight week intensive course with 175 teaching units (TU) at 45 minutes. For people in industry and commerce. This course will introduce you to the language of business and administration and will prepare you systematically for the PWD exam.
* prerequisite: Mittelstufe 3 (Intermediate 3)
* 24 teaching units per week
* lessons from Monday to Friday
* a maximum of 16 participants per group
* additional culture and leisure program.
- Business German:
A two week intensive course with 60 teaching units (TU) at 45 minutes. For people who need to use German professionally. Students interested in the examination "Zertifikat Deutsch für den Beruf" (ZDfB) will find this the ideal preparation course.
- prerequisite: Mittelstufe 2 (Intermediate 2)
- 5-8 teaching units a day
- lessons from Monday to Friday
- a maximum of 10 students per group
- company visit
- accompanying culture and leisure program
- we can find internships for you after the end of your course.
* Accommodation: In addition to your language course, you can also book your accommodation. Usually you will be accommodated:
- in halls of residence or in private accommodation
- in a single or double room.
The halls of residence are simply furnished and feature:
- rooms with shower and WC or
- rooms with WC and showers on the same floor
- communal kitchens
- TV rooms
- washing machines.
The average price for the single room ranges between 15 - and 25 - per night.The price of double rooms ranges between approximately 12 - and 20 - per night. Should you require more comfortable accommodation, we can arrange for you to stay in a pension or a hotel, if you let us know early enough. Prices are between 40 - and 80 per night in a medium category hotel.
Important:
- There will be no lessons on the day of arrival / departure.
- The rooms become only available on the arrival day.
- On arrival you will have to pay a deposit for the rooms.
Note: People from countries with complicated currency transfer regulations can book full board. When they arrive at the Institute they will get their money back.
Faculty Information:
Ci has two institutes in Mannheim. Both are very central and near to every important place in Mannheim. All teachers have a University qualification as well as special training in teaching German as a foreign language.
Other Activities:
- Culture and leisure program: There is no substitute for the experience of a foreign culture at close quarters and for direct contact with the people to give a true understanding of the language. This experience therefore comprises an important part of our course program. The culture and leisure program of our Institute is happy to incorporate participants' interests and requests.
It includes:
- visits to exhibitions and museums
- guided sightseeing tours of the city
- visits to companies
- parties, Stammtischs, discos
- meeting Germans
- day and weekend excursions
- sports program
- visit to cultural events.
All costs for the organization of the program are included in the course fees. Weekend trips as well as entrance fees for the theater, museums etc. are offered at cost price.
