Antigua, Guatemala is the world's most popular place to learn Spanish. Students of every age, from every country come to Antigua every year to take advantage of the excellent language instruction, fascinating culture and diverse eco-tourism activities.
Since the early 1970's, Antigua has been host to a tradition of Spanish education. As a result, the community welcomes students and offers a variety of services to make your stay as stimulating and convenient as possible. The city is rich with colonial architecture, ancient ruins and beautiful convents and offers a large open park where students can read, suntan, do homework and grab a snack.
Our experienced teachers develop custom lesson plans based on a student's goals, basic comprehension level, conversation skills, and learning style.
Our language program is characterized by:
- One-on-one classes;
- Focus on conversation skills;
- Highly-qualified and experienced instructors;
- Custom lesson plans designed to meet each student's needs;
- Ongoing evaluation of student progress.
Every classroom activity focuses on oral and written comprehension and expression skills, giving students the skill and confidence to communicate in any situation. A typical morning might include a conversation about a movie the student saw last night, a review of yesterday's lessons and/or homework, introduction of a new verb tense and new vocabulary, grammatical exercises to illustrate and reinforce the lesson, and further conversation to practice the new concepts. Often, instructors will take the lesson out of the classroom so students can practice their language skills in real-life situations and explore more of Antigua.
Students have the option of studying for 4, 5, 6 or 7 hours a day, and can specify an emphasis on travel preparation, business vocabulary, health/medical professions or social interactions if they prefer. We are happy to design a program specific to your needs.
Our rates:
4 hours instruction daily - $90/week;
5 hours instruction daily - $110/week;
6 hours instruction daily - $130/week;
7 hours instruction daily- $140/week.

If you are planning to stay in Guatemala for an extended period of time, we encourage you to take advantage of the variety of opportunities to volunteer your time while you practice your Spanish. We can arrange for you to volunteer in local schools, nursing homes and in building projects. We work with organizations like God's Child to place you in a program that fits your interest and skills. If you prefer, we will be happy to arrange for you to stay in a hotel or apartment during your stay. Costs range from $50 to $350 per week for hotel and $150 to $475 per month for a private apartment.
