Our individual homestay tuition programs offer a worthwhile and highly rewarding vacation to learn and speak our language, understand our way of life, our culture - and to visit Italy. As a guest student, you will live in the home as one of the family and have daily tuition from one of the hosts who is a qualified teacher.
Our Programs:
Italian Language and Cultural Tuition: Euro 1.050 per week, 15 hours of tuition weekly. One-to-one personalized tuition for absolute beginners, intermediate or advanced students. Grammar with practical day-to-day conversation.
Italian Language and Cultural Excursions and Walks: Euro 1.150 per week, 20 hours weekly of on-site Italian language tuition during excursions and visits to local towns and historical attractions with the personal teacher as a guide. Visits, according to family-based program, to Florence, the Chianti Wine Area, Fiesole, Siena or other Tuscan towns. Visits are conducted either entirely on foot, or both by car and on foot, or by bus and train and on foot, according to the program chosen. During the excursions and walks, your teacher will adapt her level of language to conform to, and improve, your current knowledge of Italian.
Italian Language and Cooking Activities: Euro 1.150 per week, 20 hours weekly shared between language tuition and cooking including visits to local stores and markets to identify and select the appropriate ingredients recipes. The host student will be taught the art of interpreting the language of Italian recipes, the technique used in preparing the ingredients for cooking, tasting and setting the table in the traditional Tuscan manner.
Italian based on Libretti of Opera: Euro 1.150 per week, 20 hours of tuition weekly. Comprehension of the texts and explanation of the grammar and history of epoch and libretto context. Tuition based on two of the following libretti. La Traviata - Cavalleria Rusticana - Rigoletto - La Bohème - Il Barbiere di Siviglia - Tosca - Le Nozze di Figaro - Don Giovanni – Otello.
Italian Language and History of Art: Euro 1.150 per week, 20 hours weekly including lessons and visits in Florence and Fiesole from one of the following programs:
- Program 1: The Etruscans and Romans in Florence and Fiesole
- Program 2: Medieval Period in Florence: Florence and its Tower Buildings
- Program 3: The Rinascimento: Florence and its Palaces.
Faculty Information:
We are an Association of over twenty qualified teachers living in Tuscany who offer Italian Language and Culture Homestays to foreign students wishing to gain a better academic and working knowledge of the Italian language.
What we teach: Italian grammar, with practical, everyday conversation based on the student's personal interests and goals. The guest student's present level of Italian, past study and experience, and all personal and specific interests for studying Italian will be evaluated by the teacher. Our qualified and experienced tutors give practical, essential tuition taking into account personal interests and aspirations. Guests live the daily life of the family, sharing and learning from their interests, culture and heritage.
