This intensive two week course is for you, if you want to kick start a project. Not only will the daily workshops and daily assignments help you do this, you will also gain useful feedback from having your work discussed in the group. As an optional extra, you are welcome to book personal tutorials to discuss your work in more depth with Philip.
To make sure you will keep up your work after the workshop is over, we provide an extra service in which Philip is able to offer you regular back-up on-line, reading work and making suggestions to strengthen your work in progress.
We can send you the full details about all this.

Faculty Information:
Philip has written many books for children. These have been published by scholastic, A & C Black and Oxford University Press. Two of his stories have been Guardian Children's books of the week. His series of stories about ancient Egypt, the Nile Files, was used by the Times to promote the Tutenkhamun exhibition at the O2 centre in London and a new edition was published by Franklin Watts in Spring 2008. He has also contributed two historical novels, 'Trouble at the Mill' and 'Plague' to the 'My Side of the Story' series (published by Kingfisher/Macmillan in the US and UK,) described as a "completely unique approach to historical fiction". He is presently completing an adult novel set in Ancient Greece.

Other Activities:
Every year Limnisa organizes a Short Story Competition with 20 prizes. The two winners will get a FREE place at one of our writing seminars.

For 2010 Limnisa has planned three writing seminars. The one week course "TIME TO EXRESS YOURSELF" starts on May the 30th and on August 22nd. The two week intensive course "KICK START YOUR WRITING PROJECT" will be held from September 19 until October 2nd. The maximum number of guests is 12. Workshops and writers' retreats are held at the centre, though it is also available for hire by private groups.

Limnisa provides tutoring on line.

Facility Information:
Our Center is a perfect escape from everyday life in beautiful natural surroundings. The centre has got a beach, a garden and is only a walk away from a small harbor with tavernas. From our terraces you can look out on the Saronic Gulf to the islands of Aegina and Angistri and the mountains of the Eastern Peloponese. We organize (optional) Yoga Sessions every morning and provide homemade Breakfast and Lunch Buffets for our guests.

The atmosphere is relaxed, based on the belief that calm and open space can help you in being creative. The workshops are serious. The garden is dotted with tamarisk trees, orange trees, pines and shrubs, with only an old stone wall to separate it from the beach. Then it follows the line of the cliff, with rosemary, cistus and broom. A path leads to the next bay. There are plenty of sunny and shady places to sit on your own and reflect, keep writing or read a book; you can go to sleep in a hammock or enjoy good talks with others on one of the three paved terraces.

Our center is a secluded spot, but only 15 minute walk from Ag. Georgios - a little village with two tavernas and a harbour with fishing boats.
A walk of 30 minutes along the picturesque road in the other direction takes you to Ag.Nikolaos, another small coastal village with tavernas on the sea front, and also a hot sulfur bath described by Pausanius nearly two thousand years ago.
Or you can take a walk up the old mule paths above the centre, through a landscape of stone terraced slopes and old olive groves with views back down to the sea and out across to the islands.
