Interact with the locals: dine with a family in their home; visit the classrooms of the next generation of Chinese artists; and meet with the people of a local village. While your children prepare for the trip, they might like to learn about life in China by corresponding with Chinese pen-friends.

Day 5: Fly to Xiian: Terracotta Warriors, Muslim Quarter
Day 6: Xiian to Chengdu: Big Goose Pagoda, Chengdu city tour
Day 7: Chengdu: Panda Breeding Center, local craft streets, Face-changing show
Day 8: Fly from Chengdu to Lijiang: Lijiang Old Town
Day 9 - 10: Lijiang: Dongba Culture Lesson, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Treasure Hunt in Lijiang
Day 11: Lijiang to Guilin via Kunming: Reed Flute Caves
Day 12: Li River Cruise Guilin to Yangshuo
Day 13: Biking Yangshuois backcountry, Chinese Cooking Lesson
Day 14: Fly to Shanghai/Beijing/Hong Kong or other gateway cities to catch your international flight back home.
