Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival at Maiquetía Airport, Caracas; flight to Puerto Ordaz
Meet your guide at the airport and take a connecting flight to Puerto Ordaz in the south. Overnight at Posada Angostura.

Day 2: Canaima National Park
Fly to Canaima National Park. Visit Canaima Lagoon and El Sapo Falls (in the right season you can even walk under it). Take a short flight to see Angel Falls from the air. Overnight at Posada Angostura. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 3: Puerto Ordaz – Orinoco Delta
After breakfast, return to Puerto Ordaz and go to the Orinoco Delta, taking a boat ride down the river in the afternoon. Overnight at a comfortable camp (sleeping in beds). Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: Orinoco Delta
Visit some Warao communities in the delta, traveling by boat on the Orinoco River. Stop on the way to fish piranhas and go horseback riding. Return to camp for the night. Includes: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: Caracas – Puerto Colombia
Return to Puerto Ordaz after breakfast, take the flight to Caracas, then drive to Puerto Colombia, a quaint colonial town on the Aragua coast. Enjoy the palm-lined beach, the river and walks in Henry Pittier National Park. Overnight at Posada Turpial. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 6: Chuao
Take a small boat from Puerto Colombia down the coast to the Chuao, famous for its cocoa and dancing devils. The devils dance only once a year, but you can visit the pretty colonial church at any time, walk through a cocoa plantation to see how cocoa grows, and have the best cocoa you’ve ever tasted. Enjoy lunch at the beach and wait the boat back swimming and chilling out..Overnight at Posada Turpial. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 7: Henry Pittier National Park – Merida
Early in the morning, drive to Tremaria for a walk through this park with its extraordinary biodiversity, led by your specialist guide. See some monkeys, perhaps, trekking through sugar cane, coffee and avocados until you arrive at the local trapiche (sugarcane mill) where they make papelón (brown sugar in loaves). Return to the posada and then take a night-time drive to Mérida city. Overnight at Posada Casa Sol. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 8: Merida
Drive through the páramo, a neotropical ecosytem peculiar to the Andes — and very beautiful. Visit the Andean Condor Station. Overnight at Casa Sol. Includes: (B), (L).

Day 9: Merida
Visit this attractive city, famous for its wood handicrafts, or take an optional ride on the highest cable car in the world. Overnight at Posada Casa Sol. Includes: (B).

Day 10: Merida – Los Llanos
Drive to Hato Cedral in the Apure plains, on the picturesque Trasandina route, stopping at Mucubají Lagoon on the way and enjoying the view of Sierra Nevada National Park. Overnight at Hato Cedral. Includes: (B), (D).

Day 11: Los Llanos
Watch the incredible profusion of birds and wildlife at Hato Cedral during morning and afternoon excursions.

DAY 12. Los Llanos – Caracas
Drive to Barinas Airport to catch the flight to Caracas.
