Day 1. Caracas - Los Llanos

Meet your guide at the Maiquetía airport and take a connecting flight to Barinas. Upon arrival at the Barinas airport, you will be transfer to Hato Cedral in Apure State (a 5 hour drive). Overnight at Hato Cedral. ( - / - / D).

Days 2 & 3. Hato Cedral

Take day and night safari excursions with experienced guides through one of the country’s largest and most biodiverse hatos (ranches). See anacondas, giant antiaters, white tailed deers, red howler monkeys, pink dolphins, jaguars, pumas, caimans, crocodiles and bird species such as the Herons, Egrets, Storks, Ibises, Black-bellced Ducks, Hoatzins, Scarlet Macaws and Orinoco Geese. Overnight at Hato Cedral. (B / L / D).

Day 4. Barinas – Ciudad Guayana

Fly from Barinas to Caracas and connect to another flight that will take you to Ciudad Guayana. At Ciudad Guayana, you will be transfered to Delta del Orinoco, a deep green labyrinth of islands, channels and mangrove swamps. The Orinoco river has a width of 20km (12 miles) in its lower course before splitting into about 40 major channels (and perhaps 250 smaller ones), which flow out along 360km (216 miles) of Atlantic coast. The delta is home to the indigenous Warao Indians, known as the 'canoe people'. The Lonely Planet describes the Delta as one of the world's great river deltas, mesmerizing region to explore and see roaring howler monkeys, ravenous piranhas and screaming clouds of parrots. The wildlife you see in the Delta makes this a naturalists' mecca! Overnight at the Orinoco Discovery Camp. (B / - / D).

Day 5. Orinoco Delta

Early in the morning, after breakfast, take a boat ride to Flotel Camp, a floating hotel with the Orinoco River flowing under your feet. The base of the camp is a catamaran with the hotel on top made of wood. The camp has huge windows, which are only covered by gaze, which gives you a wild and turly unforgetable view of the Delta's most purest form of nature.

Upon arrival take an excursion in the Orinoco Delta that includes piranha fishing In this excursion you might be able to see other species such as the water hyacinthine, sweet water dolphins (toninos), giant otter, water turtles and many snakes. (B / L / D).

Day 6. Orinoco Delta

See Waraos Indian settlements. The Waraos live along the shores of the Orinoco river in small communities built on platforms called "palafitos". In the afternoon, return to Orinoco Discovery Camp and take the opportunity to get a bird’s-eye view from an ultralight plane (optional with an extra cost). (B / L / D).

Day 7. Ciudad Guayana - Canaima National Park - Ciudad Bolívar

From Ciudad Guayana, fly to Canaima National Park. Visit the Canaima Lagoon, a beautiful river lagoon with red waters splashed by waterfalls. Walk underneath the Sapo or Hacha falls. After lunch, fly back to Ciudad Guayana flying over Angel Falls. Drive to Ciudad Bolívar with an overnight at Posada Angostura. (B / L / -).

Day 8. Ciudad Bolívar – Caicara Del Orinoco – Río Caura

Early in the morning we start from Ciudad Bolivar in a 4x4 jeep to Caicara del Orinoco. In Caicara del Orinoco area we will stop for lunch. After lunch, we will continue our journey to Río Caura. Overnight at Las Trincheras (where you will sleep in hammocks). (- / L / D).

Day 9. Playon Beach

Take a 5–6-hour boat ride through rapids and past mountains to Playon Beach - at the lower end of rio Caura. Overnight in a Indian community camp (sleep in hammocks). (B / L / D).

Day 10. Para Falls

Walk through dense rainforest parallel to the river, which is invisible in a canyon 200 meters or 300 meters away. Two hours later hear the thunder of the Para Falls. On the way back, we take a chance to buy arts and crafts from local indians. Overnight at Indian community camp. (B / L / D).

Day 11. Drive back to Caura Lodge

Drive back to the main camp, Caura Lodge, and enjoy a free afternoon in this extraordinary landscape. Overnight at Caura Lodge. (B / L / D).

Day 12. Ciudad Bolívar – Caracas

Drive to Ciudad Bolívar to take an overnight bus back to Caracas. (B / - / -). If you wish, a flight might be booked. This will increase your costs.
