The lovely riverside villages such as Beynac and Domme are the highlight of any visit to the region, with wonderful cobblestoned laneways, imposing castles and dramatic views of the valley. Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: (Sun) Arrive in Les Eyzies and transfer to Thonac.
Day 2: Walk to the stunning riverside village of St Leon Sur Vezere. Return to Thonac (15km).
Day 3: Walk to the old Perigord village of Fanlac, with its traditional pale limestone houses. Visit Le Thot (15km).
Day 4: Walk to Montignac. Visit the cave complex of Lascaux and Regourdou. Travel to La Roque Gageac (15km).
Day 5: Walk to bastide village of Domme. Visit the Giverzac Forest (15km).
Day 6: Walk to St-Julien, Castelnaud, and the riverside village of Beynac. Travel to Sarlat (15km).
Day 7: Free day in Sarlat to explore this medieval town.
Day 8: Transfer to Sarlat, where trip ends upon arrival (Sun).
