Along the way we have time to appreciate the remarkable profusion of exotic plants and spectacular views of the craggy granite summit. We spend the night in mountain hut accommodation at 3,300m. (B)

Day 5: Mt. Kinabalu. Rise early to climb to the summit. The views from the top of Mt Kinabalu are breathtaking, with a sea of clouds and jungle spreading out beneath us. Later we descend to the foot of the mountain where we spend the night in a lodge. (D)
