This tour takes you along the magical River Thames with all its rich history and through the rural charm of the River Wey. Dotted along these river banks is a wealth of glorious gardens for you to enjoy, from the famous Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, to the Royal Horticultural Society's garden at Wisley. And in between you will discover a hidden route into the gardens at Hampton Court Palace, a characterful garden nursery and the formal gardens at Ham House.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: London to a riverside village - 18 miles (29km).
Make your way to our base close to London Bridge station in good time in the morning to pick up your cycling equipment. Then board a Thames river boat with your bicycle and head upstream.Your traffic - free cycling begins in leafy Kew and gives you ample time to explore the Thames riverside with its cafes and vistas and the wildlife and weirs of this rural scene. Enjoy the world famous gardens at Kew and the formal and informal gardens at Hampton Court Palace if you wish.. Take in the restored gardens at Ham House and discover an unusual nursery before taking a ferry to your riverside hotel in the old church square of a Thames village.
Day 2: A riverside village to Wisley - 11 miles (18 km).
Discover the tranquil waters of the River Wey today and enjoy its tiny bridges and locks. Ride through pretty villages and relax in the cosy pubs of the area on your way to the glorious gardens at Wisley. A short train hop then takes you back to London and to our base where your luggage will be waiting for you.
