For experienced climbers, snowshoes, skiers, and snowboarders with previous ice ax, crampon, and rope handling skills.
Practical training in climbing large peaks in a winter environment. Excellent training for winter climbers or expedition members heading for Mt. McKinley.
Instruction includes: rope team travel, snow protection placement, high camp establishment, avalanche hazard evaluation and more.
This course culminates with an attempt of Mt. Shasta via Casaval Ridge.
