Mt. Shasta 14,162 ft. Advanced Winter Mountaineering Tour (3 days).
For experienced climbers, snowshoes, skiers, and snowboarders with previous ice ax, crampon, and rope handling skills. Practical training in climbing large peaks in a winter environment. Excellent training for winter climbers or expedition members heading for Mt. McKinley.
Instruction includes: rope team travel, snow protection placement, high camp establishment, avalanche hazard evaluation and more. This course culminates with an attempt of Mt. Shasta via Casaval Ridge or Mt. Whitney's Mountaineer's Route.
