Our most popular winter seminar provides instruction in the basics of winter mountaineering, designed as a basic foundation for all types of winter travelers, snowshoes, skiers, snowboarders, and mountaineers.
You will learn the fundamentals of establishing a winter camping, traveling over winter terrain, basic avalanche safety/rescue, winter survival, staying warm, winter route finding, and mountain safety. As well as technical skills in ice ax self-arrest, crampon use, and basic rope travel.
The course culminates with an attempt of Alta Peak (Sequoia Park)!
