The morning starts with a buzz as we set off for Kakum National Park and Africa’s only canopy walkway. Kakum is a beautiful tropical guinea rain forest and the canopy is an exciting excursion, set 40 meters above the rain forest floor and attached to 7 emerging trees, this is an excursion never forgotten.

After lunch we visit the Castle of St George, the oldest extant Colonial building in sub Saharan Africa, for an emotional journey through Ghana’s recent tragic enslaved African trade era.

We start our journey to Kumasi, home of the Asantehene, King of the Ashanti’s. En route we will stop at Assin Manso, an important town along the enslaved African trade routes. Here enslaved Africans were bathed in a nearby river and checked for fitness before transportation to Cape Coast castle and shipment to the Americas.
