The Olympic Peninsula is recognized the world over for its unique beauty and ecological diversity. Our company has carefully chosen a stunning variety of hikes that give you a taste of all the area has to offer.
Highlights include:
- Lush Temperate Rainforests
- Wilderness Beaches of the Pacific Coast
- Tide Pools, Sea Stacks and Petroglyphs
- Ancient Glaciers
- The Olympic Mountains
The rich diversity of the Olympic Peninsula is second to none. The dramatic coastline of the Pacific Ocean features sea stacks, wide open beaches, tide pools, and Native American petroglyphs. The virgin temperate rain forests (the largest in the world) are nurtured by up to 200” of rain and are home to a multitude of wildflowers as well as some of the world’s largest conifers that can be seen draped with deep green moss.
The peninsula’s high country offers viewpoints from which you can see both the Straight of Juan de Fuca and Canada to the north and the peaks and glaciers of the Olympic Range to the east.
Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see a great variety of bird life including bald eagles, osprey and puffin. In addition to birds, you will also get a chance to see a variety of mammals including Roosevelt Elk and Olympic Marmot, two of the many subspecies that are unique to the Olympic Peninsula due to eons of geographic isolation.
This is an unforgettable trip through one of the most breathtaking natural treasures to be found in the world.
