Day 2: You’ll be met by your guide and begin your wildlife safari. Full day’s game driving in Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. Tarangire is famous for its elephants and in the dry season is home to huge herds of buffalo and significant numbers of elephants. During certain seasons, the number of bird species present in the park has been known to exceed 450. Swala Tented Camp (B, L, D)

Day 3: Depart with your guide in a 4WD vehicle for another day of game driving in Tarangire. Enjoy an afternoon walk with an expert guide who will bring this amazing landscape to life. Swala Tented Camp (B, L, D)

Day 4: After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge for lunch. Here you will enjoy the beauty of this park where you will drive through the under ground water forest and see a lot of animals like giraffe, elephants, cape buffalo and many more, its also amazing place for birding with more than 350 species. Lake Manyara Tree Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 5: After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch from Tree Lodge, and do a game drive en route to Karatu overnight at Gibbs Farm Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 6: Depart with a picnic lunch for a game driving on the floor of World-Heritage Listed Ngorongoro Crater. To the viewpoint of the crater is about a two hour drive. This will be your only chance to see the rare and elusive black rhino. The crater hosts almost every species in the region except giraffe (they can’t negotiate the steep incline down) There are lions, cheetah, hippos, plains species, rhinos, elephants and a myriad of birds. The 102 sq mile floor is surrounded by the intact crater walls rising up over 1,000 ft to the rim.

After lunch, make your way to the Southern Serengeti Plains with a stop at the interesting and informative museum at Oldupai Gorge. The gorge is the site of years of research into the anthropology of early man by the famous Leakey family and prominent universities. After your visit, continue to arrive at cosy Ndutu Safari Lodge. Overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge/Serengeti Savannah Camp (B, L, D)

Day 7: Take a picnic lunch and head out for a full day of game drives in the Ndutu area. Ndutu is the home of many famous wildlife film makers and photographers. The area surrounding the lodge is a wildlife lovers dream. Ndutu Safari Lodge/Serengeti Savannah Camp (B, L, D)

Days 8-10: Leave Ndutu and continue to a different area of the Serengeti in search of the great migration. From your own private corner of wilderness at Moru Kopjes you’ll be able to plan your days and choose your options. The vast Serengeti is one of the most stunning wildlife sanctuaries on the planet. The name comes from the Masai ”siringet” referring to endless plains. This vast savannah hosts the world’s largest surviving concentration of plains game.

In addition to the short grass plains there are beautiful rocky out-cropping called kopjes (pronounced copies) and thousands of acres of bush and acacia woodland. The Seronera area has permanent water and therefore is an excellent area to spot the big cats and elephant in the dry season. Go out all day with a picnic or return to camp for lunch and an afternoon snooze before embarking on an evening game drive or any possibility that may present itself. The migration moves seasonally in response to grazing and weather conditions and it’s possible the herds will have moved too far north to track at this time of year. Private Mobile Camp (B, L, D)

Day 11: Leave the Serengeti and make your way back to civilization. After an early breakfast depart for Seronera Airport for the flight back to Arusha. Enjoy some shopping in Arusha if you wish. You’ll be transferred to KIA Lodge where you have a day room until your flight.
