For wine lovers who love to climb peaks...why not combine a stay at a beautiful Mexican winery with a challenging ascent of Baja's elusive highest mountain? A unique adventure that combines a tasting tour of Mexico's finest wineries with a three-day climb of "the devil mountain" in one of Mexico's national parks.

We begin with a stay at The Adobe Guadalupe in the beautiful Valle de Guadalupe, just inland from the port city of Ensenada (only two hours south of San Diego). The Adobe Guadalupe is a working winery and inn that produces some of the best wines in Mexico. Experience gourmet food and a private tasting and tour of The Adobe, as well as tastings at other local wineries. Or take an optional horseback ride.

Then it's time for adventure of a very different kind where we trade the soft linens of the Adobe for a mummy bag. We travel by van to the Parque Nacional San Pedro Martir where we embark on a three day back country journey to the top of Baja. Two nights are spent in the high wilds of Baja among the pines and boulders. We will attempt the summit of Picacho del Diablo via an easy, but strenuous scrambling route where the use of a rope may be necessary. At the end of our journey we find ourselves back at the Adobe lounging around the pool and hot tub sipping fine wine. A first-class back country adventure!

Tour Itinerary

Day 0
We meet at the beautiful Adobe Guadalupe winery and Inn (or with pickup in San Diego) in the early afternoon where we are greeted with a glass of award-winning Adobe Guadalupe wine. The rest of the day is spent relaxing around the grounds of the winery with a personal tour and tasting. The evening is spent enjoying a gourmet dinner at the Adobe.

After a hearty full breakfast at the Adobe we travel South by private transportation past the city of Ensenada (with a short stop) and on into wilds of Baja within the National Park San Pedro Matir. We extablish a comfortable car camp at our trailhead where we acclimate and enjoy a campfire and gourmet backcountry cuisine among the pines. (includes Breakfast & dinner)
