The Garden Route offers a world of wonder and allows you to see the Big 7 (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo, Elephant, Great White Shark and Whale). This package is gives you a combination of bush and beach experiences, long the famous Garden Route, renowned for its scenic beauty.
Depart: Port Elizabeth.
Tour End: Cape Town.
Duration: 12 Days.
Highlights: Port Elizabeth, Game Lodges, Tsitsikamma Mouth, Bloukrans Bridge, Knysna, Cango Caves, Hermanus (diving option), Cape Winelands, Cape Town, Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival In Port Elizabeth Lathita Expeditions will meet you at the airport and transfer you to you to The Palace Guest House at the beach front. You will most likely be tired and will appreciate the comfortable bed.
Days 2-3: Hlosi Game Lodge, Eastern Cape Game Route. After a good breakfast, Lathita Expeditions will collect you from the Guest House and take you to Hlosi Game Lodge; The Game Reserve is located about 90minutes from the City, out in the Country side. Here you will relax in nature and go on a afternoon game drive. For the next two days you will have a Big 5 experience with daily game drives and bush walks.
Days 4-5: Buffalo Hills Game Reserve. After breakfast Lathita will collect you from Hlosi and transfer you back to Port Elizabeth. At our offices we will deliver you rental vehicle to you, with a few quick instructions on how to use the vehicle. From there you will depart on your way to Plettenberg Bay to Buffalo Hills Game Lodge. At the lodge you will enjoy more game drives and bush walks.
Days 6-7: Oudtshoorn. After breakfast you will depart from the lodge to continue on your way along the Garden Route, towards Knysna, Wilderness and George, frequently stopping along the way to enjoy the scenery. You will go across Outeniqua pass into the Klein Karoo, towards Oudtshoorn. In Oudtshoorn you can visit the Cango Caves, have an experience with Meerkats (highly recommended) or visit the Crocodile Range.
Day 8: Hermanus. Today you will depart from the Klein Karoo and head back to the coast across the Robinson Pass towards Mosselbay. You will continue along the coast to the quant town of Hermanus. Hermanus is a perfect base from which to explore the area, and if you are lucky you may even spot whales in the bay.
Day 9: Stellenbosch. After breakfast you can take the scenic drive to the Cape Winelands. En-route you have the opportunity to stop at wine estates to enjoy a taste of the best wines in the world.
Days 10-12: Cape Town. Today you will take the short drive to the Mother City, Cape Town. Your days will be spent sigh seeing and enjoying the many attractions with beautiful City has to offer. The day of departure you will drive yourself to the airport to drop the vehicle before you are on your way.
