Dec. 26th to Jan. 2nd you and your family can join renowned artists Robert Masla and his family for an unforgettable week of creativity and fun! “Parents – kids and the creative connection” an Art Workshop Vacation at Casa de los Artistas, in Boca de Tomatlan, Mexico is designed for plenty of creative and playful interaction with children and grandchildren ages 9-14 and at the same time, enough freedom for you to also have some alone time to finish that novel on the beach or a romantic dinner with your significant other.
Take advantage of this unique opportunity (available only to 3 or 4 families depending on size) to share with your children a very special holiday week that is sure to provide loads of fun, learning and cherished memories of significant time together! From the sumptuous breakfast in the morning created by the Casa chefs, Ruby and her assistants, ranging from pancakes with real maple syrup to traditional Mexican dishes like huevos rancheros and chiliquilles, to dinners literally “on the beach with your feet in the sand” with the fresh “catch of the day” (there is always something for the pickiest of eaters to the adventurous) to “spaghetti fiestas” and “piñata parties” with the local village children, mealtime is always, delicious, festive and satisfying.
Your itinerary:
- The mornings will find us in the 1500 sq. ft. open air Casa art studio exploring different media and art making techniques, working on projects individually and together (where it is not uncommon to see dolphin or even whale swim by and “play in the Boca Bay").
- After lunch and siesta time there will be planned activities for the kids that parents are welcome to join, from soccer, volleyball and other games on the beach with the local village children, to hikes through the jungle for swimming at a secluded lagoon or visiting a waterfall with natural water slide and rope swing at a gorgeous tropical river.
We will also take picnics, a boat trip to explore the incredible coastline and dramatic rock formations at Los Arcos National Park and Coral Reef were you could swim and snorkel among hundreds of angelfish. Possible additional excursions (additional fees apply) could include horseback riding and swimming with the dolphins.
- Evenings may find us drumming around a bonfire on the beach, participating in a local fiesta, or just mellowing on the patio after a long and active day. The Casa will host a “dance/cocktail party” for our guests and friends in the local community during the earlier hours of New Years Eve with an excursion later in the night for hearty revelers to the city of Puerto Vallarta to participate in the festivities and then see the incredible fireworks displays along the beach at midnight.
Over the course of the week you and your family will dive deeply into the richness of not only the shared creative experience of art making and exploration but also the unique opportunity of interaction with the joyous and welcoming culture and people of Boca de Tomatlan. You are sure to bring home with you both works of art and a fuller heart.
