Although is rains almost all year round, you can also have beautiful sunny days and a green paradise all year.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: San Jose Sleep Inn Hotel. Upon arrival to international airport, our driver will pick you up and will take you to Sleep Inn hotel in San Jose.
Day 2: Manatus, Tortuguero
We begin our trip early in the morning around 6:30 a.m. You will be traveling with a bilingual naturalist guide on an air conditioned bus. Drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park, where you have the opportunity to see beautiful views and abundant vegetation. On the way we will stop for breakfast at a local Restaurant and then we will continue our trip to Caño Blanco deck driving by banana plantations. Lodging will be offered at the exclusive Manatus hotel. A room at Manatus Hotel begins an extraordinary sense of peace and comfort. Your guest room is designed to inspire, its beauty connects you with the surrounding environment of a wildlife sanctuary and the water channels, while ensuring your comfort and convenience. Here at Manatus Hotel, the first class experience is the rule rather than the exception, All Rooms Have: Luxury Finishes, Air Conditioning, Cable TV, Mini Bar, Two Queen Size Beds, Private Solarium.
At Caño Blanco, you will board the covered boat to the lodge, passing the Tortuguero canals arriving between 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. At the lodge our staff will be waiting for you with a refreshing cocktail, your rooms will be assigned and the guide will explain the afternoon activities after lunch -the visit to the Turtle Museum of the C.C.C. (Caribbean Conservation Corporation) and to the colorful Tortuguero town. You will return to the lodge around 5:30 p.m. Free time to enjoy the pool, the bar service and prepare for your dinner. Dinner service from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and then rest of the night free to enjoy the surroundings, pool and bar.
Day 3: Tortuguero National Park
Optional 6:15 am tour to admire the awakening of the wildlife of Tortuguero. Return for breakfast (service between 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.). Then another boat tour to admire the canals of Tortuguero National Park. This is a wonderful and interesting experience where you can see abundant flora and fauna of Tortuguero National Park. Return to the lodge for lunch and free time for a siesta, enjoy the pool or go for a walk to the beach. Then you have another optional tour to the canals or stay at the lodge to explore the private trails of the lodge, visit the open butterfly garden or simply enjoy the pool. Dinner at the lodge and free night.
Day 4: Caño Blanco
After breakfast we will begin our trip back to the dock and. The boat will arrive at Caño Blanco around 11:00 a.m. Then our van will be waiting for the drive back to Siquirres where you will enjoy a box lunch before continuing the trip to your next adventure…Selva Bananito Lodge. Selva Bananito Lodge and Reserve is located on a family farm. The reserve covers two thirds of the farm and consists of primary rain forest. It shares borders with Area de Conservacion La Amistad (La Amistad Biosphere Reserve), Central America's largest protected wilderness expanse, which consists of national and international parks and reserves. This area remains one of the least explored territories in the region, its biological wealth only partially known. Lodging will be offered at a superior room. All meals and activities will be included during your stay.

Day 6: Selva Bananito Lodge. Prepare yourself for two days full of adventure at this exuberant rainforest. During your stay in our property we offer a package full of activities which includes: Tree Climbing, Horseback Riding, Rappel at Morpho Waterfall / 100 feet height. If for some reasons the waterfall tour could not be operated, we will offer instead a natural history hike and Platform observation with rappel. The activities will be schedule by the lodge. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 6: Pacuare Rafting
The Pacuare River is world famous for its sheer beauty. A true river gorge, it is flanked by steep, green walls. Here you enjoy the feeling of total isolation from urban life and the realness of being connected with nature. You see waterfalls cascade into the river from both sides as colourful, tropical birds fly right over your head. Amazing views of this virgin tropical rainforest area appear before your eyes as you descend this true exploratory land. The Pacuare River has white water that is equal to its natural beauty and abundant wildlife. It is not an overly challenging river, but it has a lot rapids, therefore giving you an adventure filled with lots of fun. The 18 mile one day run includes a total of 38 rapids. Few rivers in the world can offer you so many rapids in such a short stretch of river.
All of the class IV rapids are on this day, so now it is time to truly test the skills you learned on the previous day. The second day is significantly longer on the river, with 23kms (14 miles) to travel and about 30 rapids. Two stops are made, one for a nice exploratory hike and another one to have lunch on the river. At the conclusion of your river descent we will take you to our Exploration Center, where a van will pick you up to continue to San Jose, lodging at Sleep Inn hotel or similar. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Shuttle transportation to international airport.
