Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival – Aberdares
Met upon arrival and transfer to a Nairobi restaurant for breakfast. This morning we will give you a full safari briefing and your welcome pack consisting of among other information, a safari hat and your itinerary. Late you will drive to Aberdares. You will arrive in time for lunch, after lunch, you will be transferred to Treetops Lodge. The Treetops overlooks two waterholes, a salt lick both of which attract a great variety of animals, which means guests do not need to go out on safari. On clear days you can even see the snowy peaks of Mount Kenya. The lodge boasts two photographic hides at ground level at either end of the lodge to allow really close shots of unsuspecting animals. It has 4 decks and a rooftop-viewing platform. Treetops Lodge is also famous for its historical royal connection. One afternoon in February of 1952, a young English girl climbed the fig tree as a Princess, to descend the following morning as Queen Elizabeth II-her father, King George VI had died during the night. As the game comes to the lodge, no game drives or walking Safaris are needed. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru national park to arrive in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru is a very shallow strongly alkaline lake 62 km2 in extent. It is set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland next to Nakuru town. It is best known for its thousands, sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores. The surface of the shallow lake is often hardly recognizable due to the continually shifting mass of pink. The number of flamingoes on the lake varies with water and food conditions and the best vantage point is from Baboon Cliff. Also of interest is an area of 188 km around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild giraffes, black rhinos and white rhinos. Afternoon proceed on a game drive to return for dinner and overnight at flamingo hill camp/Sarova Lion Hill.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru – Maasai Mara
Break fast at the Camp. Then proceed to the jewel of Kenya’s parks, the world famous Maasai Mara Game (Wildlife) Reserve. This is Kenya’s number one park and is always on every tourist’s “Must see list”. Full of life with various types of animals and birds. As the sun starts to edge its way dip into the African horizon it will be the perfect opportunity to capture the beautiful Mara landscape on film or video camera. You will then drive back to the Sentrim Mara Camp/Sarova Mara Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Maasai Mara
An early morning game drive before dawn, followed by breakfast, is the perfect start of another unforgettable and memorable day in Africa. Return back to your lodge for breakfast. In between the morning and afternoon game drives you can take time out to read a book/novel, sunbathe, swim in the pool or simply sit back, relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lodge and the natural flora& fauna surrounding it, watch animals just right from your room. Or visit authentic Maasai Village to see and experience their wonderful culture. Have lunch at the camp. After lunch you will have time to take a rest before afternoon game viewing. Proceed on with your afternoon game viewing in search of the BIG FIVE and many other wild animals. Drive back to the Sentrim Mara camp/Sarova Mara Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Maasai Mara – Naivasha
Breakfast at the camp. After breakfast drive to Lake Naivasha. Naivasha the only freshwater lake in the Rift Valley. From the top of the escarpment of the Rift Valley you can see the lake sparkling in the sun thousands of feet below. The lake enjoys a colony of hippos and the rich birdlife makes it an ideal place for an afternoon boat ride. A visit to the Crescent Island which is completely wild and undeveloped and one the few places in Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and giraffe. There are no predators and no fences. Dinner and overnight at the Fish eagle Inn/Naivasha Sapa.
Day 6: Naivasha – Nairobi
On this day you will leave for Nairobi and arrive in mid morning, you will have time for shopping. Later you will have lunch at an Indian restaurant. You will check in at Boulevard hotel/Panafric Hotel, have sometime to rest and later in the evening you will be picked by your driver for more shopping and dinner at a Nairobi restaurant. You will then return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Depart. You will be transferred to the airport to catch your schedule flight back home.
