This is a highly eco-rated, friendly camp that is situated in an exclusive 400 sq m wilderness that has found harmony between wildlife conservation and the local community, the Maasai people. From its luxury tents, the guests enjoy a panoramic view of Africa’s tallest mountain, the Kilimanjaro. Currently the Camp is involved in the "Simba" project that is proving successful in increasing the lion population in the conservation area. Lake Victoria is the second largest fresh water lake in the world, providing a source of livelihood to millions of people. Even the famous River Nile originates from here. This lake is also being referred to as the Kenya’s West Coast due to its fabulous beaches and climate, hence making it a must to visit. Rusinga Island Lodge, situated in one of the islands going by the same name, exudes an atmosphere of serene tranquility. It is renowned for its hospitality, delicious home-grown house cooked food and indulgent accommodation which combines well to offer an ideal home from which to explore the many activities available. The Lodge offers a quiet and beauty that calms the mind and rejuvenates the body. With its luxurious accommodation, the Lodge is a great place to relax before, during or after a rigorous and exciting Kenyan safari or working holiday. Activities: fishing on Lake Victoria, bird watching, spa services, water sports, historic and archaeological site visit (a site where Mary Leaky found the common ancestor of the great apes and man in 1948), swimming, bush breakfast, sundowner, boat trips, nature walks and a visit to the nearby Ruma National Park where a rare Roan Antelope is found among other mammals.
