Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Negombo - Anuradhapura

After you got picked up at the airport or your hotel, you will proceed the ancient city of Anuradhapura while visiting coconut plantations and observing the famous toddy tappers at work. After you've checked into your hotel you will start the city tour of the city dating back to 3rd century BC to 10th century AD. You will visit the Sri Maha Bodhi (the oldest tree in the world with a written history and it is a sapling from the original tree under which Buddha got enlighted), the Brazen Palace, the Ruwanveli Seya Dagoba, the Thuparama Dagoba, the Lankarama Dagoba, the Elephant Pond, the Abhayagiriya Monastery complex, the world famous Samadhi Buddha Statue and the Isurumuniya Temple. Overnight at Hotel Milano – The Grand Holiday Resort or similar in Anuradhapura.

Day 2: Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya

Sightseeing of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (10th-12th century AD). You will visit the modern museum, the Parakrama Samudra (gigantic reservoir made by king Parakrama the Great), Statue of King Parakrama, the Library Shrine, Palace of King Parakrama, the Kumara Pokuna, the Shiva temple, the Thuparama shrine room with its glittering statues, the Alahana Monastery Complex, the Gal Vihare, the Lotus Pond and a Thivanka Image House. After your afternoon tea you will proceed to Sigiriya. Overnight stay at The Lion Rock – Globe Trotter or similar in Sigiriya.

Day 3: Sigiriya - Kandy

In the early morning you will have the opportunity to climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built 5th century AD, see the water garden, bolder garden, mural paintings, the mirror wall, the lion's paws and the royal swimming pool on top. Back to the hotel to have your well deserved breakfast. After this you will proceed to the Dambulla Cave Temple. This is followed by Nalande Gedige, and the Aluvihare Cave Temple. Overnight stay at Hotel Kandy view – Blink Bourne or similar in Kandy.

Day 4: Kandy City tour and elephant orphanage

You will visit the elephant orphanage in Pinawella where you can see the feeding of baby elephants by milk bottle and elephants bathing in the river. Followed by a Kandy city tour including the authentic market, bazaar, famous temple of the Tooth and a traditional Kandian dance performance. Overnight stay at Kandy in Kandy.

Day 5: Kandy – Peradeniya - Nuwara Eliya

After a warm breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Peradeniya to visit the royal Botanical Garden after that drive through Sri Lanka's hill country en route visiting a Tea Factory you will reach Nuwara Eliya with its colonial hotels, the race course, golf courses, Market and the Bazzar. Overnight stay at Hotel Grosvenar – Sampth Rest in Nuwaraeliya.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya – Horton plains – Ella

After an early breakfast at hotel, leave for Horton Plains (40 km, approx. 1 and a half hour drive), the highest plateau in the country. It is one of the very important National parks in Sri Lanka especially for its topographical variations. It has unique vegetation and is famous for many rare and endemic highland birds. The most awesome physical feature of the Horton Plains is the escarpment that falls 880 meters to the lowlands of the southern region of the island. Aptly known as the "World’s End" the view from the precipice of the countryside below. On completion returned to Nanu Oya Railway Staion or Pattipola, the highest Railway Station in the Island to take the enchanting Train ride to Ella. Overnight stay at Ravana Holiday Resort – Tea Garden or similar in Ella.

Day 7: Ella - Buduruwagala - South and South-West Coast

After a worm break fast at the hotel and start trekking in Ella rock the magnificent view through Ella Gap. Enchanting and spectacular scenery among the tea plantations. On completion proceed South-West Coast or to Colombo en route visit Rawana Waterfalls, a sight to behold with a scenic backdrop of mountains and valleys. It is featured in the Rawana mythology, where Sita is said to have bathed from this waterfall while she was in captivity.After that visit the Buduruwagala temple the complex consists of seven statues and belongs to the Mahayana school of thought. The statues date back to 10 century. After that you will drive back to the airport or your hotel along beautiful beaches with the opportunity to stop wherever you like to take dip. The most know beach resorts are Tangalle, Mirissa, Unawatuna, Hikkaduwa.
