Your tour starts with a private transfer from Frankfurt International Airport to Heidelberg, the charming town idyllically located on the river Neckar with the famous Heidelberger Schloss (castle) towering above. Heidelberg, which has been rated among the top 25 destinations within Europe, will capture you with its charm and beauty. A private walking tour (english) thru the Old Town and the Castle may also be booked. You will spend the night at the Villa Marstall, Heidelberg’s best rated Luxury Hotel.

Day 2 & 3: Cologne and Embarkation of the Premicon Queen

After enjoying breakfast at your Hotel, a train will take you first class from Heidelberg to Cologne. Here in Cologne you will have time to explore the city’s famous sights such as Cologne´s impressive landmark, the Kölner Dom (cathedral) which is the largest gothic church in northern Europe. Cologne looks back at over two thousand years of history, and there is something “historical” to see at almost every corner. A guided walking tour (english) may also be booked.

The Excelsior Hotel Ernst (Luxury Hotel) is located right next to the Koelner Dom. The next day there is still some time to explore the city before you embark the Premicon Queen, which leaves Cologne at 5pm. A private transfer from the hotel to the cruise ship is included.

Day 4: Luxurious Rhine River Cruise - Frankfurt

Today the Premicon Queen reaches Frankfurt on the river Main at 3pm, which gives you time to explore this interesting city which has much to offer. Enjoy this modern metropolis which also offers many historic sites such as the Römerberg with its beautifully restored timber-framed houses, the Paulskirche, symbol for democracy and freedom in Germany, or the Frankfurt Museum Riverbank, one of the most important locations for museums in Germany and Europe. The exhibition buildings are lined up on both sides of the Main river, where the Premicon Queen docks until it leaves with its passengers to Ruedesheim at midnight.

Day 5: Luxurious Rhine River Cruise - Rudesheim and Braubach

At 7am the Premicon Queen arrives in Ruedesheim. After your breakfast on board there is time to visit this charming little town. Take the cable car up to the Niederwalddenkmal, from here you have an unforgettable view across the valley and the river. Enjoy a romantic walk through the vineyards back down to the Old Town and stroll thru its cobblestone alleys and the famous Drosselgasse. At 1pm the cruise ship leaves for Braubach, where you will arrive at 4pm. Braubach is famous not only for the Marksburg but also for its mediaeval charme and its location within the Rhinevalley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Premicon Queen leaves Braubach at 9:30pm.

Day 6: Luxurious Rhine River Cruise - Cochem and Niederlahnstein

Today at 9am the Premicon Queen arrives in Cochem, another charming little town, romantically situated in the valley of the Mosel. Cochem lies at the foot of a hill surrounded by a feudal castle, the Reichsburg, dating from 1051. The landscape is dominated by vineyards, which of course is very typical for this region. At 12.30am the cruise ship continues on to Niederlahnstein, where you will arrive at 9pm.

Day 7: Luxurious Rhine River Cruise - Niederlahnstein and Konigswinter

Take the time after breakfast to stroll thru the picturesque town of Niederlahnstein. You might want to visit the chapel on Allerheiligenberg, which once was a famous destination for pilgrims. At 1pm the Premicon Queen leaves for Koenigswinter, which is situated on the right bank of the Rhine, opposite to the city of Bonn, at the foot of the Siebengebirge. The romantic Drachenfels, crowned by the ruins of a castle built in the early 12th century by the archbishop of Cologne, rises behind the town. From the summit, which can be accessed by the Drachenfels Railway, you will have a magnificent view across the land. A cave in the hill is said to have sheltered the dragon which was slain by the hero Siegfried. The mountain is quarried, and from 1267 onward supplied stone (trachyte) for the building of Cologne Cathedral.

Day 8: Luxurious Rhine River Cruise - Cologne/ Rail to Wurzburg

Very early in the morning the Premicon Queen leaves for Cologne, where you will arrive at 7am. This concludes the cruise on the Premicon Queen. From Cologne's main station the ICE (German highspeed train, 1st class) takes you to Wuerzburg which is idyllically located on the Romantic Road, with the mediaeval fortress Marienberg towering above. There will be a taxi transfer to your hotel, the 1st Class Dorinth Novotel. Würzburg is old bishop´s see and lively town, proudly presenting monuments of different eras. Culture, art, history and hospitality are ever-present in this remarkable city! At 3pm you can take a guided tour (english) thru the "Fürstbischöfliche Residenz" (Prince bishops residence ). This "Palace above all Palaces" is today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 9: Day trip (by rail) to Rothenburg ob der Tauber

In the morning take a train to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of Germany's most beautiful mediaeval cities. Taking a walk thru this charming little town is truly a journey back in time. Rothenburg ob der Tauber was once a powerful free imperial town and its monuments, landmarks and buildings still bear witness to these days. Marvel at the half-timbered buildings and at town walls which are withstanding time since hundreds of years, protecting the city since the Middle Ages. Visit the town's most famous spot, the Ploenlein square, probably the most photographed place in Rothenburg. Every step you take in this old town is a step thru history with yet another beautiful spot to be discovered around the corner. In the evening take the train back to Würzburg.
