Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Toronto to Europe.
Day 2: Europe - Cairo. You will be met at the airport, assisted through immigration and customs by our representative. Overnight in Cairo at the Zoser Hotel, based on Bed & Breakfast.
Day 3: Cairo - full day tour
Following breakfast we visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. You will have an opportunity to view the treasures of Tutakhamen's tomb and a stunning display of Pharonic artifacts. After lunch we visit the Al Moallaka Church (Hanging Church), the Mohammed Ali Mosque, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. In the afternoon we will visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. Befoere we return to our hotel we will have an opportunity to haggle for bargains in the Khan El Khalili bazaar.
Day 4: Cairo - Memphis Pyramid Tour
After breakfast you will tour the ruins of Memphis, the necropolis of Sakkara and finish the day seeing the Step Pyramid of Zoser. Lunch is included. This evening you are transferred to the Train Station to board a sleeper train to Aswan. Your accommodation is AC and includes dinner and breakfast.
Day 5: Aswan - Kom Ombo
Upon arrival at Aswan you will be escorted to cruise ship where you will spend the following 3 nights and 4 days. Your cabin will be an outside junior suite cabin with private facilities. You start your tour with a visit to the High Dam, the Granite Quarries with the unfinished Obelisk and the Temple of Philae. In the afternoon you will step back in time and view Kitchener's Island botanical garden and the Agha Khan Mausoleum by ancient felucca. While you dine our ship will cruise to Kom Ombo.
Day 6: You visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris (Kom Ombo Temple), then sail for Edfu and the Temple of Horus (the falcon-god). You will sail onwards to Luxor.
Day 7: After breakfast you will visit the great temples of Luxor and Karnak. In the evening you will have an opportunity to take in the Sound and Light Show at the Karnak Temple.
Day 8: Luxor - Cairo
After breakfast you will disembark from your ship and will tour the West Bank of the Nile, visiting the Valley of Kings, Hatshepsut's Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon. In the late afternoon you will board your sleeper train and return through the night to Cairo. Dinner on board the train.
Day 9: Free day in Cairo. There is an optional Sound & Light Show in Cairo.
Day 10: Today you return to Canada.
