Our guided walks are very much for those that want a comfortable holiday but at the same time being out in the open, walking, seeing and getting the feel for the Irish countryside. Our guides are selected because of their knowledge of the area which you will be walking. They will explain the ecology of the area, its history, art, architecture, customs, folklore and its natural history. Good accommodation, (private bathroom each location) and quality meals make for a holiday to be remembered.
Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Doolin where we stay for the next two nights.
Day 2: Walk over the spectacular Gleninagh Mountain to explore several stone forts before descending to Black Head. Wonderful views across Galway Bay.
Day 3: From Doolin we travel to the Cliffs of Moher for a morning walk along the cliff-tops to Hag's Head. Return to Doolin pier to catch ferry to Inishmore, the largest of the Aran Islands. Afternoon walk to Dún Dúchathair, a spectacular cliff-top stone fort. We spend two nights at Kilronan, Inishmore's main town.
Days 4-5: Walk westwards along the spine of Inishmore to visit Dún Aonghusa, Ireland's most famous stone fort. On the last day we explore the eastern end of the island, before departing the island by ferry.
