Leaving Nairobi behind we cut through the Great Rift Valley's floor past the tea zones of Kericho and Kisii and then to the shoreline of Lake Victoria in Homabay. Once here we will visit Ruma National Park for its unusual and very rare game namely; Oribi, Jackson 's Hartebeest and Roan Antelope among others.
We will also explore the remote but colorful fishing beaches of Rusinga Island before crossing the lake by ferry then drive on to Alego. Alego is the place where everyone smiles and it is also the land where Illinois 's Senator Barrack Obama has his father's roots. Did I say Alego? Yes! We will have three days here for exploring as well as submerging ourselves in the cultural lifestyles of Luos. We will cross the equator as we enter the equatorial rainforest of Kakamega where the Luhya tribe does coexist in harmony with the forest flora and fauna. This gives us a chance to watch birds, primates, butterflies and also to study herbal medicine. Down in Naivasha walking, cycling and night game drives awaits us before we finish this tour in Nairobi.
