Visit 5 villages of 3 different minorities. Combing a mix of adventure and culture in this multi-day trek suites those who have a little extra time, are willing to get a little dirty, and want to explore. We will travel South of Sapa along the inspiring Muong Hoa valley and mountain streams, visiting villages of Hmong, Zay, Dao and Tay ethnic minorities. This trek can be difficult at times but is worth the effort as you will be taken off the beaten path, away from the crowds, and into the unspoiled Vietnam. Visit and stay with a Zay and Tay family and learn about village life. Difficulty Level: (4/5). Successful level: 95%
Get started: Sapa trekking tour's taxi take you to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train at at 9:30 PM to get to Laocai Station: O/N on the train. Sapa Option tours: absolutely home stay - 10 villages of 5 different minorities(go and come back by jeep).
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: 4 hours trekking, 12 km, 3 villages, O/n home stay. Picked up at Laocai Railway station early in the morning by bus. Arrive at Sapa round 8:00 am. Breakfast and relax. Walk around Sapa and then start from Sapa at 12:00 pm by jeep to visit a village of the Black H'mong (LaoChaiSan). Go though hillsides along MuongHoa river. Cross the river by a suspension bridge to reach LaoChai village. Take the paths across the paddy fields to get to the 3rd village of the Dzay minority (TaVan) and Stay the night at a Dzay family in this village. Picnic lunch on the way and dinner at the family.
Day 2: 7 hours trekking, 18 km, 3 villages, O/n home stay. On way home. Breakfast with the local family and then get to a village located at the foot of HoangLienSon range via bamboo forests. Visit a waterfall and a rattan bridge. After the village, get down to the river, cross it and keep going to SuPan village for 2 minorities, the H'mong and the Red Dzao. Get off the road to go down hill to BanHo village. Overnight at Ban Ho with a Tay family who have houses on stilts. Picnic lunch on the way and dinner at the family.
Day 3: 7 hours trekking, 15 km, 4 villages, O/n home stay. Get up early in the morning for fresh air and peaceful daily life of the people. Breakfast and leave the village for a hard day. Walk uphill to a smallest and almost untouched village of the Red Dzao (Namtoong). Go further to another village on the Sapasame side of of the mountain range to see the XaPho ethnic group in NamKen. Get down to the river and go up to MiSon to visit the XaPho again. Spend the night in ThanhPhu village at a Tay family. Picnic lunch on the way and dinner with the local family.
Day 4: 12 km with 4 hours trekking and 23 km by jeep, O/n in hotel
Breakfast at ThanhPhu village. Walk back to SuPan village where to take a jeep back to Sapa. On the way back, visit the ancient stone store area (stones decorated with ancient carvings which are said to have described the life of the people lost in the mists of prehistory). Check in hotel. Lunch at SuPan and dinner in Sapa.
Day 5: Sapa - Laocai and back to Hanoi, O/n on train. Breakfast, free to go around and explore the town. Lunch and check out the hotel. Leave sapa for laocai Station by bus in the afternoon. Dinner on the train to Hanoi and arrive in Hanoi round 4:30 am. The end of tour.
Trip Notes:

- Bring Passport, change of clothes, sun-glasses and hat, toiletries, sun-block, insect repellent, flashlights, good shoes, personal first aid kit and medicines, small VND notes for buying drinks. If you feel the need then sleeping bags, cable lock for your bags is recommended
