Visitors came to Maine's Coast in the 1800's as wealthy families from Eastern cities traveled to escape the summer heat. From the thousands of miles of unspoiled coastline, they selected Bar Harbor and Camden as the sites of their summer cottages. Our week-long adventure explores the best of these summer communities.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Cycling Acadia's Park Loop Road and Lunch at the Jordan Pond House.

Guides will collect you from your hotel in the morning for the transfer to Bar Harbor and the start of your trip. Today we cycle Park Loop Road, as it winds its way along the shore and through Acadia National Park. We enjoy a welcome wine and cheese reception before dinner at one of Bar Harbor’s finest restaurants.

Cycling Options: 24 and 34 miles
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Lodging: 3 Nights at The Harborside Hotel

Day 2: Exploring Acadia on the Famous Carriage Roads.

Picture breathtaking scenery, gentle grades, and car free cycling, and you have Acadia's famous carriage roads. A gift of John D. Rockefeller to help the people of America enjoy Acadia's beauty the carriage roads offer the opportunity to cycle through stately forests of pine and birch and to enjoy panoramic views of Mount Desert Island.

Cycling Options: 12, 20, or 35 miles
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 3: The Rugged Beauty of the Schoodic Peninsula.

Camden and Acadia. Today we enjoy a unique ferry ride across Frenchman Bay to Winter Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula. We experience the dramatic power of the open ocean as it crashes along the Schoodic's rugged shore before we cycle to a true lobstering community.

Cycling Options: 15, 33, or 38 miles
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Kayaking Coastal Waters and a Sunset Sail on Penobscot Bay.

In the morning we kayak pristine waters and explore secluded islands before lunch and a van transfer to Camden. We finish our day with a sunset sail on Penobscot Bay.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Lodging: 2 Nights at The Hartstone Inn or The Blackberry Inn.

Day 5: Cycling Islesboro Maine's Friendliest Island.

The early morning ferry carries us to Islesboro where stately pines and 40 room cottages serve as a backdrop for our cycling tour around one of Maine's prettiest islands.

Cycling Options: 28, 38, or 48 miles
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Day 6: Cycling the Prettiest Six Miles in New England.

Our morning ride carries us to the charming village of Rockport. A wonderful mix of ocean views and gently rolling farms highlight our ride. We conclude our trip with a mid-day transfer back to Bangor.

Cycling Options: 12 or 30 miles
Meals: Breakfast
