When we’re not biking, you’ll have plenty of time to hike into the parks for a more personal view of the whimsical rock formations, majestic coral-covered mountains and the beautiful, white-barked aspens.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: We gather at the Crystal Inn in St. George, Utah by 3:00pm for a rental bike fitting, an orientation at 5:30pm, and a welcome dinner at 6:30 pm.

Day 2: We start the day with a shuttle to the north rim of Grand Canyon National Park. You can choose to cycle to Point Imperial on the canyon rim, or to hike into the depths of the canyon on the Kaibab Trail, or both. We’ll watch the sun set on the canyon's wall as we dine in the historic Grand Canyon Lodge. 22 miles.

Day 3: We start in the quiet early morning by cycling through the pinion and juniper forests of the Kaibab Plateau to Jacobs Lake. Then we descend onto the desert floor and end at the classic comfort of the Thunderbird Lodge at Mt. Carmel Junction. We’ll welcome the site of a refreshing pool and spa after this invigorating – but mostly downhill – ride. 97 miles.

Day 4: Today we’ll pedal past Navajo sandstone cliffs in the river sculptured valleys. And we’ll bike past Red Canyon Arches, until we’re on the plateau of Bryce Canyon National Park. We’ll overnight a short walk from the rim of one of the most fascinating canyons in the world. At dusk, you can watch the light play with the eroded lace of the canyon walls. 57 miles.

Day 5: Today, we take a day off from cycling to hike the Fairyland Loop Trail within the park. It will take us down for a close-up view of the hoodoos. The brightly multi-colored spires of rock jut up from the canyon floor standing tall against the weather and erosion that created them. They’re eerie in their unwavering soldier-like stance. 0 miles.

Day 6: We leave the park for a fun-rolling and mostly downhill ride to Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and its maze of cliffs, canyons and plateaus. We stop to see some petroglyphs along the way. 51 miles.

Day 7: We’ll pedal past gleaming slick rock and a hogsback ridge with breathtaking vistas on each side. We’ll stop for lunch in an enchanting oasis of red sandstone, willow and cottonwood, along the scenic Burr Trail. Tonight we stay at the Boulder Lodge with balconies overlooking a waterfowl refuge of marsh reeds and still ponds. 29 or 53 miles.

Day 8: This morning’s ride on the Clem Church Memorial Highway takes us through aspen forests to the charming town of Torrey, full of art galleries and cafes. Tonight we’ll enjoy the culinary creations of our guides on picnic tables among the pinion pines. 39 miles.

Day 9: We ride to Capitol Reef National Park today, one of the newest and least visited jewels of our national park system. This interesting park houses a museum and visitor’s center full of natural history and pioneer settlement information. The parkland is an isolated gallery of salmon-colored sandstone domes and chocolate striped narrow canyon trails situated on the Waterpocket Fold. 30 miles.

Day 10: You’ll have an excellent opportunity for a century ride today as we bike through canyons and vistas to the small town of Panguitch, which means “big fish” in Paiute, the native American language in the area. You can always take the WomanTours shuttle to shorten the miles. 36 — 107 miles.

Day 11: We end our journey with one last ride to Cedar City. Along the way, we’ll bike past Panguitch Lake, and then through Cedar Breaks National Monument. We’ll feel the magnitude of its giant amphitheater that spans 3 miles and 2000’ deep into the red rock of the Colorado plateau. We’ll enjoy a farewell dinner together tonight as we reminisce over our accomplishments. 57 miles.

Day 12: After breakfast, we’ll shuttle everyone the 1-hour trip to St. George, arriving by 10:00am. You can pick up your car, catch your flight out of the St. George airport, or catch the shuttle to Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. 0 miles.
