Day 1: Arrive Bangkok
Welcome to Bangkok, Thailand’s exhilarating capital. This evening, drive through the city’s historic old quarter passing magically illuminated temples and avenues. After dining on delicious Thai cuisine, wander through the evening Flower Market where the exotic colors and smells are a delight to the senses. Overnight at Ariyasom Villa, Bangkok. Includes: (D).
Day 2: Bangkok
Start today with a visit to Wat Pho to watch the resident monks perform their morning chants, a special and uplifting experience. Tour the temple as well as the Grand Palace with your expert guide, unlocking the mystery and grandeur of Siamese culture. Day 3: Bangkok
Travel an hour drive south of Bangkok to Samut Songkhram province. Stop at an amazing country market, situated along the railway tracks. Day 4: Bangkok
Chiang MaI: Fly to the cultural capital of Thailand, the northern city of Chiang Mai. Visit Studio Naeena, a group of weavers established by Patricia Cheesman to preserve traditional weaving techniques, an integral part of Thai culture. Continue to Wat Phra Thad Doi Suthep, one of Thailand’s most sacred temples and enjoy the beautiful temple and sweeping panoramic views below. Day 5: Chiang Mai
Spend this morning learning more about Buddhist culture as you join the local residents in an alms ceremony, receive a traditional blessing, and discuss the Buddhist philosophy with local monks. Continue your day of cultural exploration with a visit to the outskirts of the city and a long tail boat ride along the Mae Ping River, where you will see the blend of old and new Thailand. Day 6: Chiang Mai
Today, experience Chiang Mai by bicycle. Pedal past famous landmarks, stop at coffee plantations, and enjoy the fresh air of the Chiang Mai countryside. After a lake-side lunch, continue through small laneways and local neighborhoods. This fantastic day is filled with sights, impressions, experiences and adventure. Day 7: Chiang Mai - Phuket
Fly south to the island paradise of Phuket. Not only is the island home to spectacular beaches and lush jungles, but it is also steeped in culture and history. Discover the cultural heritage with a guided tour through the historic quarters of the city where the blend of architecture styles reflects the various migrants to the island. Days 8-11: Phuket
Relax and enjoy four days at your leisure on Phuket Island. Several optional activities can be arranged such as snorkeling in the turquoise waters, kayaking through limestone caves, indulging in a Thai massage, or spend your days simply relaxing by the water.
