Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival
Depending on the time of arrival, meet with our company representative and transfer to Kampala to your accommodation. If your flight arrives early, have some time to change your money and then have a city tour around Kmapala visiting places like the Kasubi Tombs and the Uganda Martyrs shrine. Dinner and Overnight at Speke Hotel – Kampala
Day 2: Kampala - Murchison Falls National Park
Depart Kampala, head for Murchison Falls National Park with a lunch stop at Masindi. We visit the magnificent falls where you will enjoy and marvel at the mighty Nile being forced into a seven meter crevice to thunder 45 meters below in a series of cascades that can be viewed at different points up to the summit. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast, embark on a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, escorted by a game ranger. You may opt for a game walk while trailing animals and studying their spoors. Game in this part includes: Rothschild Giraffe, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Lions, Oribis, Waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland birds. At 14.00 hrs, after lunch, we go on a Nile cruise for game viewing at close quarters; this is a paradise of hippos and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge
Day 4: Murchison – Fortportal
Breakfast early then transfer to Budongo forest for half a day walk in search of primates. On the walk you may see Black and White colobus Monkey, Red tailed Monkey, Baboon, Grey cheeked Mangabay’s or the Chimpanzees. After lunch in Masindi, transfer to Fortportal the area where Kibale and Semliki parks are found. Arrive in Fortportal this evening for dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge.
Day 5: Semliki National Park
Depart early after breakfast for the pygmy villages and hot springs, which have become a very interesting tourist attraction near Ituri Rain Forest. The guide will have lunch arranged for you to be served as a picnic lunch while exploring the real Africa. The Music and cultural performance of the pygmies will crown the day. Afternoon transfer back to Fort portal and arrive this evening at for dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge.
Day 6: To Kibale National Park
After breakfast we visit Kibale Forest National Park, reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East-Africa. Guided nature walks in the tropical rain forest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others. After lunch we visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for birds and butterflies. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge
Day 7: Fortportal - Queen Elizabeth National Park
Have an early morning breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park passing through the crater lakes region, look at the nice view then move in to Queen Elizabeth National Park with lunch en route. Arrive in time for the evening game drive as you enter the park, then check in at the Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast take on a morning game drive in search for the wild game: lions, elephants, buffaloes, kobs etc. Return for lunch, relax and at 15.00 we take on a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George and is actually one of the highlights of your safari. On the cruise abundant bird life is sighted and perhaps the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge
Day 9: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kisoro, Parc De Nationale.
After breakfast we have two options:
- You either visit chimps by taking a short drive to Kyambura gorge and take a walk in the gorge of the Kyambura River. This not only has Habituated Chimps but also a place that has birds and other primates. The scenery of the gorge is very attractive as well.
- OR We hike into the Maramagambo Forest, for the famous rock pythons and Bat Caves. You may have a chance to sight them as they come to feed on the bats in the caves; this is also a home of many bird species. We will then have lunch en route and then transfer to Kisoro – cross the Boarder to Rwanda arriving at Volcanoes Virunga Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Full Day - Gorilla Trekking In Parc De Nationale
Hikers will love it with the gorilla tracking is unpredictable, it is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike. The gorilla tracking may take 2 – 7 hours, you must be physically fit and equipped as sometimes there’s rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these apes. You are advised to carry packed lunch as you may be long hiking though in Rwanda most clients return in time for late lunch and only pack water. Late afternoon transfer to Kigali – a 2 hours journey – arrive at Hotel Inter Continental Kigali for overnight rest and dinner as you prepare for the next day.
Day 11: To Nyugwe National Park
After early breakfast we transfer to Nyungwe National park also reputable for the concentration of primates, butterflies and Birds in East-Africa. A guided nature walk in the tropical rain forest in search of the primates. After enjoying your packed lunch from the hotel, enjoy anther nature walk and you will driver back to Kigali town, arriving late evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight at Hotel Inter Continental.
Day 12: Kigali – Uganda, Lake Bunyonyi.
After breakfast, we depart stopping over at The Genocide Places, take pictures and look at craft centers then driver out back to Uganda for a visit to Lake Bunyonyi, this is a nice breathtaking lake, that all hikers love after the tedious tracking, if offers swimming and canoeing. As you pass through the winding roads you will marvel at the rolling hills of Kabale, normally called the “Switzerland of Uganda”. Lunch en route arrive in time for relaxation and dinner plus overnight at the Lake Bunyonyi Island Cottages.
Day 13: Lake Bunyonyi – Kampala.
After breakfast, you will have a canoe ride, this is so rewarding to see all the landscape, water birds and the small islands. Transfer to lunch in Mbarara and continue to Kampala arriving in time for dinner and overnight at Speke Resort Hotel, Munyonyo - Kampala.
Day 14: Departure
After breakfast visit some craft shops for craft shopping and some souvenir, then later dropped off at the airport for the return flight back home.
