An exciting and active one-week holiday including five full days of adventure in south-west Turkey, exploring the coast and mountains of the Dalyan region. White water rafting, sea-kayaking, trekking, canyoning and mountain-biking.
This area offers a huge variety of landscapes to explore: mountains, wild-flowing rivers, canyons; cool forests; and one of the best beaches on the Med, the famous 'Turtle Beach' at Iztuzu, Dalyan. The region is full of history, in particular the ancient city and rock tombs of Caunos at Dalyan. There are lots of opportunities for wildlife spotting in the protected areas around Köycegiz Lake and the Dalyan delta. Generally 4-6 hours of activity per day. No previous experience is required.
Accommodation - bed and breakfast in airconditioned hotel in Dalyan. Lunch is provided on activity days.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at Dalaman airport, private transfer to hotel in Dalyan. Welcome meeting and briefing. The rest of the day is free.
Day 2: Kayaking - explore the Dalyan delta and marshes or peaceful Köycegiz Lake. Visit the mud baths and paddle beneath the impressive Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliffs. Includes: (B) (L)
Day 3: Mountain-biking - we pedal though groves of frankincense trees (a type of sycamore found nowhere else in the world) via back roads and small villages. Lunch at a trout restaurant next to a clear, rushing stream. Approx 45 km. Includes: (B) (L)
Day 4: Canyoning - a fun and challenging combination of trekking, rock-scrambling and swimming. Includes: (B) (L)
Day 5: Free. Possible activities (not included in the price)are scuba diving, jeep safari, paragliding, microlight trip, visit to the mud baths and hot springs, and boat trips. Includes: (B)
Day 6: White water rafting on the Dalaman River in 6-person boats. Grade 3-4 rapids in remote and spectacular limestone gorges, with crystal clear water. Around 3-4 hours on the river, followed by riverside barbecue. Includes: (B) (L)
Day 7: Trekking - through forests and small villages, from Dalyan to Ekincik Bay. We have the chance to explore Caunos ancient city en route. Swimming break at the uncrowded beach at Ekincik, then return to Dalyan by boat or vehicle. Includes: (B) (L)
Day 8: Private transfer to airport for return flight. Includes: (B)
