Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Uganda
On arrival at Entebbe, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the evening is free time to relax after your flight. Overnight at the Hotel Africana. No meals are included today.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park
A morning pick up from your overnight accommodation as we start the 4 /5 hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park. On arrival we head to the magnificent top of the falls, where you will enjoy your picnic lunch. Enjoy the amazing sight of the mighty Nile forced into a seven Metre crevice to thunder 45 metres below in a series of cascades. The Nile can be viewed at different points up to the Baker's Summit. We then return to our camp for dinner. Overnight at Nile Safari Camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning breakfast, we embark on a half day game drive on the northern bank of the river Nile, escorted by a game ranger. Game in this area include Giraffe, Elephant, Harte beest, Lion, Uganda Kob, Oribi and a variety of savannah and woodland birds. After lunch, take a Nile Cruise for game viewing at close quarters. This will allow you great close up views of the many Hippo and Crocodile in the river. Overnight at Nile Safari Camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 4: Fort-Portal
This morning we depart to Fort-Portal, an excursion that will take you by the shores of Lake Albert, through the escarpment and a series of human settlements with unique traditional African architecture. There are many fascinating sights along the way and we hope to stop off and meet some of the local people. Overnight at Rwenzori View Guest House in Fort-Portal. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 5: Kibale
After breakfast, we head in to Kibale forest for a half day walk in search of primates. During the walk, black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkey, Baboon, Grey cheeked mangabeys and the chimpanzee are a common sight. After lunch, to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where we arrive in time for an evening game drive. Overnight at Hippo Hill Camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early morning cup of tea at 6:30am, depart for a game drive on the northern part of the park along the Kasenyi track. This is the best time for viewing the big cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda Kobs. Later, we return for breakfast and the rest of the morning can be spent at the pool side. In the afternoon, we take another boat cruise on the Kazinga looking for solitary Buffalo, Hippo and other animals at the edge of the channel as they cool off. Depending on the season European migrant birds like terns and gulls congregate here in large flocks. Overnight at Hippo Hill. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After a relaxed breakfast, we depart for the gorilla sanctuary located in this beautiful mountain scenery referred to as "the little Switzerland". Enroute make a detour to Ishasha sector in search for tree climbing Lions. Overnight at Kitandara Luxury tented Camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 8: Mountain gorillas
After breakfast, attend a briefing by park rangers at the park headquarters. Later with a picnic lunch, you start a 2 hour to 8 hours (depending on the location of the gorilla) trek in search of the rare and endangered mountain gorillas. The tracking starts at the point where the gorillas spent the previous day. Porters are available (payable locally). After a full hour with the gorillas, you return to your accommodation. Overnight at Kitandara Luxury tented Camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 9: A free day in Bwindi
Today is a free day spent at your accommodation. You may want to relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery or explore the local area. It is possible to purchase extra Gorilla permits for today if required (payable at the time of booking) – this must be done at the time of booking and is subject to availability. Overnight at Kitandara Luxury tented Camp. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are included today.
Day 10: Return to Kampala
After breakfast, we transfer to Mbarara arriving in time for lunch at the Lake View Hotel. Later we head for Kampala and transfer to the airport in time for your departing flight.
