Explore the best trails of the Turkish Kaçkar mountains, a real off the beaten path route. Discover this surprising country, in the crossroads of so many civilizations.
Along the week we will have the chance to contact with four ethnic groups with very rich traditions.

Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Erzurum-Uzundere. Transfer from Erzurum to Uzundere. Prepare the bike for the tour. Dinner in Uzundere.
Lodging - Local Pension (shared bathroom).
Day 2: Uzundere-Ispir (70km/44miles). Morning transfer to the Haho monastery (Georgian 10th century church) and Bagbasi village. The ride from Bagbasi to Ispir offers panoramic views of the Kaçkar mountain range, and take us through alpine vegetation and pine forests, down to the Çoruh valley.
Lodging - Local pension in Orchards (shared bathroom).
Day 3: Ispir-Moryayla (40km/25miles). Start the day by going uphill on paved road to the top of Ovit mountain. From here, enjoy the 13km downhill to Moryayla. The uphill section follows the river valley through several farms to the high pastures and vast landscapes. In the village of Moryayla you can visit the local ethnographic museum.
Lodging - Local pension.
Day 4: Moryayla-Çamlikaya (65km/40miles). The ride begins with a long uphill towards the top of the Yedigöller mountain. The also long downhill that follows will take through the Yedigöller plateau and all the way to the village of Yedigöl and later the Coruh river, offering fantastic views of the lakes.. Our destination is Çamlikaya.
Lodging - Çamlikaya (shared bathroom).
Day 5: Çamlikaya-Sirakonaklar (35km/22miles). Another day that starts with a climb. This time to the Summer camp village of Camlikaya and then to the tiny village of Sirtbas Yaylasi . From this village we will start a downhill to Sirakonaklar, taking a trail in the middle of a dense forest, passing by traditional villages and also Alpine pastures covered with flowers.
Lodging - local Pension in traditional stone houses (Sirakonaklar).
Day 6: Sirakonaklar-Kiliçkaya (53km/33miles). For a change, today we start going downhill. We will follow a stream through the Sirakonaklar valley (partly on a canyon) until we reach the Çoruh river. We will ride along the river on a flat paved road to the village of Köprügören. To get to the village of Çamliyamaç and then to the town of Kiliçkaya, on Southern edge of the Çoruh, we will have to climb again. Today expect great views of the castle of Ercis, the Çoruh river and in your back the Kaçkar mountains. Lodging - Ambar Evleri in typical wood buildings.
Day 7: Kiliçkaya-Yusufeli (40km/25miles). Our last day of riding starts with a 14km dowhill towards Alanbasi. We will be again by the Çoruh river and this time we will cross it on the way to the Peterel Castle. After a short visit to the castle, we will continue to Tekkale and Dort Kilis - here you can see a Georgian church from the 10th century. During the day we will see several rice fields and many other castles. Optional Çoruh or Barhal rivers rafting in the afternoon.
Lodging - local pension by the river (private bathrooms).
Day 8: Transfer to Erzurum. Morning transfer to the airport in Erzurum.
