Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Colombo:
Clients to make their own arrangement to come to the hotel in Colombo as per their own convenience, Pick up the clients from hotel at 3.00 P.M Colombo city tour. (03h00) P.M - visit the fascinating city of Colombo which links the past with the present. You will visit the fort area, the commercial center, "Pettah" Colombo's bustling bazaar area, cinnamon gardens, which is full of large residences, Buddhist temples, Hindu temples & mosques. Shopping at Odel & Lakmedura Return to the hotel for Overnight stay at Holiday inn Hotel.
Day 2: Colombo - Kithulgala - Nuwareliya:
A.M. - Breakfast and leave to Nuwaraeliya the center of hill country en route stop at Kitulgala Bride, the film Location of World War II movie "Bridge on the River Kwai", This river is now more popular among water sportsman for Rafting. Proceed via misty mountain routes and view waterfalls and landscape with tea plantation and other vegetation. Afternoon walk in the City of Nuwaraeliya, this is called "Little England" due to English architect of the building, names of buildings, shops, roads and cool climate reminds of being in a Town in England. Evening Arrive at hotel for overnight - Windsor hotel or Galway Forest Lodge.
Day 3: Nuwareliya - Peradeniya - Kandy:
A.M. - After breakfast, leave to Kandy en-route visit to a tea plantation and witness the manufacture of the world famous "Ceylon tea". Visit the royal botanical gardens of Peradeniya, which is well known for it's large number and verity of plants, Ornamental, decorative, useful & medicinal. More than 4000 species include indigenous and introduced plants. This garden is best known for its collection of orchids the largest in Asia. P.M. - arrive at hotel in Kandy, The center of the traditional arts in Sri Lanka. Visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Overnight at the Hotel Suisse or Thilanka Hotel (New wing).
Day 4: Kandy - Matale - Sigiriya - Dambulla - Kandy:
A.M. - breakfast at hotel and leave to Sigiriya en-route visit to a Spice Garden and a batik factory in Matale Climb the rock of Sigiriya built by the patricide king Kashyapa in the 5th century A.D. Today it is a treasure trove of rare art, a pocket of the giant rock are the famous frescoes of the "Heavenly Maidens of Sigiriya". Return to Kandy en route visit the rock cave temple of Dambulla. Some of the frescoes in these caves are over 2000 years old. There is also a colossal figure of the recumbent Buddha 14 meters long carved out of rock. Evening visit the city of Kandy The most famous landmark of Kandy is its lake, in the center of the city. Udawatte-kele is a nature reserve surrounded by city. The Kandy market is a great bazaar full of the sounds of exiting trade. Late in the evening view the Kandyanne cultural performance return to the hotel for overnight at Hotel Suisse or Thilanka Hotel (New wing).
Day 5: Kandy - Pinnawela:
A.M. - After breakfast, proceed to visit the Elephant orphanage at Pinnawela. This orphanage was established to feed nurse & house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Often the young ones fall into pits and ravines in their request for water during drought period. Afternoon continuation to the Airport for Departure flight check in by 17h00 or Return to Colombo for Extension Stay at selected hotel for own program by 18h00. Drop at Colombo or Airport.
