Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Amazon. Flight 1:30h
Reception at the airport in the town of Alta Floresta. Welcome drink, lunch and departure by van and boat to the lodge, via river. The lodge is nestled in a private reserve surrounded by the Cristalino State Park. After dinner, slide show and briefing about the region. Opportunity to browse the library with main titles of fauna and flora.
Day 2: Amazon
Early start to visit the 50 m tall canopy tower to observe primates, canopy bird, flora and an enchanting misty dawn. After breakfast, motorboat up river and hike the Brazil nut trail, tasting the fresh brazil nuts collected in the wild. Return paddling down in inflatable canoes. Afternoon walking the Ficus Trail where one can observe a giant fig. Ropes and rappel course at the Rocky trail: a 30m rope bridge and a 20 m tall rope ladder takes you to the top of tall rocks (abseiling- optional). Night cayman spotting.
Day 3: Amazon
After breakfast walk to the Tree house – a 6 m high hide overlooking a natural clay lick that is regularly visited by tapirs, peccaries and deer. After lunch, motor boat ride up river to hike the 'Sierra' trail, a great view of the private reserve and the Cristalino Park including a marvelous sunset. Return to lodge by motorboat turned off observing nocturnal birds and animals by river.
Day 4: Amazon/ Pantanal. Flight 1:30h + 2h
Short hike and river swimming or canoing before departure. Lunch in Alta Floresta and transfer to the airport for the flight to Cuiabá, then, continuation to the Pantanal. Accommodation and night safari - a chance to observe nocturnal such as crab-eating foxes, raccoons, deer and possibly a cat such as an Ocelot or Jaguar.
Day 5: Pantanal
Early in the morning is a hiking through one of the many mound hills - a refuge for many mammals and nesting site of Hyacinth Macaws, Jabiru storks and many other birds. In the afternoon, departure to a typical Pantanal water course, for doing a nice boat trip, specially beautiful at the dusk, with the flocks of birds. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Pantanal/ Chapada 3h
After the last sunrise in the wetlands, transfer to the Chapad Tableland, doing a journey of only 200km where is climbed about 700m of altitude. Visit to the gorgeous view of Cidade de Pedra, where is admired a dazzling view of the main water springs that form the Pantanal. Dinner and accommodation in the pleasant town.
Day 7: Pantanal/ Chapada 3h
After the last sunrise in the wetlands, transfer to the Chapada Tableland, doing a journey of only 200km where is climbed about 700m of altitude. Visit to the gorgeous view of Cidade de Pedra, where is admired a dazzling view of the main water springs that form the Pantanal. Dinner and accommodation in the pleasant town.
Day 8: Chapada Guimaraes/ Nobres 3h
Visits to the National Park, with bath in waterfalls including the largest one - Véu de Noiva with it 86 m entering a majestic canyon. Transfer to Bom Jardim, passing by beautiful rock formations, by the river Manso, with it dam, and by the large Cuiabá river, near to its beginning. Visit to the Macaws’ lake, a water spring surrounded by many palm trees where they roost since the sunset.
Day 9: Nobres/ Cuiaba 2:30h
Departure to do Snorkeling in both Aquarium – a water spring with 6m deep, so clear and with a blue color together with the colorful fishes; then, on the Salobra river, in an extension of 400m, where is observed rich aquatic fauna and flora.
