The city of Lucca is really beautiful, those who had the chance to be here already know that going around in the city center, especially under Christmas time, it's really an amazing experience. And if that is not enough, Lucca is guesting fantastic events on those days, so you could enjoy them and both relax in the slow city pace. Lucca medieval streets and palaces are the unique location of Lucca Digital Photo fest events, a festival at international top level, whose guest of honor 2008 is Alex Webb with a preview of its latest works - the event calendar is anyway very rich!
Lucca Oli e Tesori and Desco are the events for food and wine lovers, for those who love Lucca and Tuscan traditions: a nice exhibition and market where you could buy local product for yourself and some Christmas gifts. Most of the productions are organic, with a very strict panel of rules in order to be recognized as "biologici", so the quality is really top! The event is also the chance to discover the beautiful location of Real Collegio, normally closed to public visits.
From the walled city of Lucca we will move towards Garfagnana discovering its territory and traditions on a very old train, with a steam locomotive for the occasion: we will run along Serchio River, through valleys and small villages, reaching Castelnuovo Garfagnana who is the center of this unique land. Accommodation is provided in apartments, women-customized and affordable, where you will share rooms and toilets.
