Day 1: The tour starts from your hotel at 8.30am traveling in a luxury Limousine for a leisurely day as we meander our way to the Limestone Coast. We will be traveling via the coast along the Princes Highway (A1 & B1) to the Coorong, our first scheduled stop will be at Kingston SE for a casual lunch at the Big Lobster, after lunch we will have a short jaunt to Mount Benson via Robe at Mount Benson we will begin wine tasting. To finish the day, we journey to Penola where we will book into our accommodation so that we will be refreshed before dinner.

Day 2 The biggest decision you'll make when you embark on your tour of discovery is which cellar door to visit first, there are over 22 cellar doors to choose from, Hollick, Majella, Redman, Brand’s of Coonawarra & Katnook Estate to mention a few, after lunch we will venture to Wynn’s of Coonawarra and Rymill to finish off tastings within the Region. As we wander our way back to Adelaide via the Riddoch Highway (A66) and the Dukes Highway (A8), you may want to have one final tasting in the Pathaway region at Pathaway Estate or just relax as you stroll around the picture perfect grounds that the Estate has to offer before returning back to Adelaide (Expected return to your hotel at approximately 7.00pm).

Coonawarra lies within South Australia's Limestone Coast Zone; the region nudges the Victorian border and is located 381 km South East from Adelaide. The town's name, although no one is exactly sure, seems to derive from an Aboriginal word meaning "wild honeysuckle". The cigar-shaped strip of 'red dirt' is finite, only 12km long and 2km wide, the region lies on a ridge 59 meters above sea level and appears completely flat, but in fact the red soil (terra rossa) is situated on a slight but all important limestone ridge.

Its secret lies in a magical marriage of rich red terra rossa soil, limestone, pure underground water and a long cool ripening season for the grapes. The first vineyard was planted in the 1880s at Yallum. The early settlers such as the Redman family, who by dint of hard work brought to reality the vision of its Scottish founder, John Riddoch. Whatever yardstick one adopts, Coonawarra produces much of Australia's great Cabernet Sauvignon and other wines include Chardonnay, Riesling and Shiraz. Neighboring wine regions include Mount Benson, (Cape Jaffa) Wrattonbully and Padthaway. Whatever the experience, be prepared for the time of your life!

Notes:
Airfare is not included in the tour price.

Accommodation in the Coonawarra for 1 Night at Yalumba The Menzies is included in the price.
