Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Buenos Aires:
Arrival and private transfer to your hotel, the stylish Caesar Park. In the afternoon discover the city with your local host. Overnight Buenos Aires.

Day 2: Buenos Aires:
Today you'll visit Tigre, a riverside village an hour from downtown. Jump on a speedboat with your captain to experience the magnitude of the Rio de la Plata. You'll make a stop at one of the delta islands for a delicious lunch. Afterwards, explore the Mercado de Frutos, where rustic shops offer regional goods and handicrafts made by the people who live in the delta islands. Overnight Buenos Aires.

Day 3: Buenos Aires:
Enjoy Argentine countryside traditions with a visit to an estancia outside the city. Live the gaucho lifestyle, watch folkloric dancing, listen to live music, dine on asado (bbq) and horseback ride around the property. Overnight Buenos Aires.

Day 4: Buenos Aires / Iguazú Falls, Misiones:
Transfer to the airport for a flight to the province of Misiones, where you'll see the spectacular Iguazú Falls. Stay at the Iguazú Sheraton, which has views of the falls. Overnight Iguazú.

Day 6: Iguazú Falls, Misiones:
With your local host go on a jungle adventure, which includes walking along the upper and lower paths to reach unique viewpoints of the falls. Take an Eco train ride to the Devil’s Gorge, known to be the most impressive waterfall in the world, and a 4WD adventure through the jungle. You will also take an exhilarating boat ride, skimming along the river, edging close to the roaring rapids and mists. Overnight Iguazú.

Day 7: Iguazú / Corrientes:
Visit the Brazilian side of the falls in the morning, and walk through the bridges of the National Park do Iguaçu. Check out the amazing Foz Tropicana Bird Park – with hundred of specimens of local flora and fauna. Then, either fly to El Calafate, or transfer to Estancia San Juan Poriahú, a traditional ranch located in the province of Corrientes. The ranch is located in the midst of vast marshlands and untouched wilderness. Overnight Corrientes.

Day 8: Corrientes:
Canoe the marshes with an experienced guide to observe the varied flora and fauna, like ñandúes (rheas), carpinchos (capybaras), the jabirú (largest stork in the Americas), yacarés (alligators), the nearly extinct aguará-guazú (hairy wolf), swamp deer, monkeys, flamingoes, herons, ducks, fish and seagulls. Flora is subtropical and lush, with myriad tress and aquatic vegetation. Have a picnic on one of the islands, or fish. Overnight Corrientes.

Day 9: Corrientes / El Calafate:
Fly south to El Calafate, famous for its spectacular glaciers. Stay at Hostería Los Notros, which has the best views of the glaciers. Take a guided excursion to the walk around the park’s boardwalks in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier. There are seven different balconies of different heights and distances from the glacier. The higher balcony has a view looking down at the north face of the glacier; the second is closer to the ice, where ice dams can form; the inferior balcony is the closest point to the glacier. Overnight El Calafate.

Day 10: El Calafate:
Take a catamaran trip through the waters surrounding the Perito Moreno glacier. Combine this navigation with hikes through the national park to natural viewpoints of the glacier, or do mini-trekking on the glacier itself with an experienced guide. Overnight El Calafate.

Day 11: El Calafate / Valdez Peninsula:
Fly to Puerto Madryn on the Valdez Peninsula, a natural habitat for an amazing number of marine animals. You will be transferred to Hotel Territorio, a lovely boutique hotel overlooking the bay. Sometimes it’s possible to see the famous Southern Right Whale from the beach, or while dining at one of the seafood restaurants along the shoreline. Overnight Puerto Madryn.

Day 12: Valdez Peninsula:
Take a tour of Puerto Pirámides, which is located inside the natural reserve. Once in the coastal village you’ll go on a boat expedition to spot whales. During the high season there are close to 10,000 Southern Right Whales off the coast. Also, spot cormorants and other sea birds. Then, take a driving tour through the surrounding areas, where you will see guanacos, rheas, flamingoes and other native wildlife. Finish the drive at an overlook of a huge group of elephant seals, where you might get lucky and see an Orca lunging on to the beach for dinner. Stay the night in a hotel in Puerto Pirámides right on the beach; it’s not luxurious, but the ambiance is peaceful and the location is superb. Overnight Puerto Pirámides.

Day 13: Valdez Peninsula:
Kayak around the point with your guide, before stopping for a picnic lunch on the beach and a little hiking along the cliffs. Look at the million-year-old fossils embedded in the cliffs, before heading back to shore. Overnight Puerto Madryn.

Day 14: Valdez Peninsula:
Take a day trip to Punta Tombo, south of Puerto Madryn, where the one of the largest colony of Magellan penguins in the world resides. These charming birds are most abundant in the northern hemisphere fall and winter, when they begin nesting. Walk amongst the colony and learn more about these intriguing sea birds. Optional excursions could include a visit to the paleontology museum in Trelew, followed by tea in the Welsh teahouses in the town of Gaimán. Overnight Puerto Madryn.

Day 15: Valdez Peninsula / Buenos Aires:
Catch your flight this morning to Buenos Aires, where you will be transferred to the Caesar Park Hotel. Dine at a delicious restaurant in the area. Overnight Buenos Aires.

Day 16: Buenos Aires / Home:
Your flight will most likely leave in the evening. Spend the day doing any last minute shopping (those boots – that tango painting – that leather jacket), before being transferred to the airport for your flight home. Get ready to share your photos and experiences when you get home!
