Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Upon your arrival at Gonggar airport, you will be met by your local guide and escorted to your hotel in Lhasa city (2-hour drive), you will view a Giant Stone Buddha carved into a cliff face en route. After checking in the hotel, rest for a while to get adapted to the high altitude.
Day 2: Your tour today will include Lhasa's cardinal landmarks, the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and the flourishing Barkhor Street.
Day 3: Today we will bring you to the Norbulingka Park, the Drepung Monastery and the Sera Monastery.
Day 4: On this day you will be driven from Lhasa to Gyantse (about 256km, 5.5 hours). Along the way you will visit Yamdrok Lake and a Tibetan family. Tour Palcho Monastery in Gyantse before being driven to Shigatse (about 90km, 1.5 hours). You will stay overnight at Shigatse.
Day 5: In the morning, you will visit Tashilumpo Monastery and the free market, after touring in Shigatse you will be driven to Tingri (245km), where you will spend the night.
Day 6: This morning you will be driven to Mt. Everest (100km, about 3-5 hours), where you will visit the Rongbu Monastery, followed by a visit to the Mt. Everest base camp to get a closer look at this great mountain. Located nearby is the largest and best preserved glacier in the world, the Rongbu glacier. If the weather is clear enough, you can view the glacier from the base camp. Stay overnight at the Rongbu Monastery guesthouse.
Day 7: In the morning, enjoy the sunrise from Mt. Everest, before being driven back to Lhasa (about 10-12 hours).
Day 8: On this day you will be free until your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to your next destination
