We do not conduct this tour in the heat of the summer for obvious reasons namely, our guests' comfort.

This tour begins with meeting our guests at Rome's International Airport. Guests have the option of spending three nights in Rome or heading straight for the Amalfi Coast, where we stay three nights on one of Italy’s most beautiful coastlines. While there, sample excellent cooking, revel in the scenery and shop for ceramics. Excursions to Pompeii or Capri are also possible. Next, we travel to Umbria, known as the Green Heart of Italy for three nights in a country inn located just outside of the hilltop town of Orvieto. There is much to explore in Umbria from our base in Orvieto. This town is even more ancient than Rome, with remains of a vibrant Etruscan civilization still evident.

Learn Umbrian recipes during a cooking class at our country lodge. From Umbria we travel a short distance to Tuscany for three nights in San Gimignano. We use the town of towers as a home base for our visit to Siena. From Tuscany we journey to fabulous Venice where we stay the last two nights in a quiet neighborhood in the San Marco district just 15 minutes walk from the Piazza San Marco. Enjoy a private tour of the Grand Canal in a comfortable motorboat on your final evening.

This tour is for the serious-minded traveler who does not mind paying extra for personal service, excellent and comfortable lodgings in unique properties and travel by very small group, with personal attention from your guide or guides.

We never mix and match strangers on a tour. Tours led by James and Jenean Derheim are for singles, couples or groups of family and friends.

Notes:
Airfare is not included in the tour price.

LOWER PRICE is per person if there are four or more people on this trip. HIGHER price is per person if there are two people on this trip. Prices depend on options and number of people and time of year you chose for travel. We will be happy to provide an exact cost for your tour once we know details of your wishes. Again, our unique private tours are not for those in search of a bargain. European Focus Private Tours have earned a solid gold reputation due to our personal service and attention to our clients' needs and desires. All European Focus tours are private.
