Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival, transfer and accommodation in a hotel. After some rest you will have excursion around Yerevan. You will visit: The Victory Park, Tsitsernakaberd, the Genocide Museum, The Park after Komitas, Pantheon, The Theater Square, Opera. You will see Komitas, Saryan, Sayat-Nova and Tamanyan monuments, Matenadaran and State University. You will walk along the boulevard to the Vardan Mamikonyan Square and the Republic Square. You will visit the winery and the brandy factory, see the Hrazdan canyon and cross the Kievyan and New bridge. You will also visit Erebuni fortress.
Day 2: Garni is the temple of Sun, built in the first century, A.D. You will walk along the canyon, by the beautiful columnar basalt and the stone bridge of the 9th century over the Azat River.
Geghard is the monastery of the 11th-13th centuries. You will see cave-monastery, cave-dwellings and a beautiful landscape, have box lunch at the bank of the river.
Day 3: Breakfast. Trip to Echmiadzin. You will visit the Cathedral, the Cathedral museum, the St. Gayane Church, the St. Hripsime Church, the Metsamor – Armenian ancient history museum, and Sardarapat. Lunch in a museum restaurant. After lunch you will also visit the Ethnographic and Folklore Museum and Zvartnots museum. After dinner in Yerevan you can go to disco, cinema, theater, etc.
Day 4: Breakfast. Trip to lake Sevan. You will visit the Airivank medieval temple, see the army chapel and Noraduz khachqars. On the way back you will visit Tsakhkadzor, the mountain skiing resort, and the Kecharis complex. You will get to the top of Teghenis pick and see an amazing panorama of Ararat, Aragats and Araler picks.
Day 5: Trip to Ashtarak, Saghmosavan, Oghanavan and Byurakan. You will walk to Amberd fortress of the 7th cent., visit Tegher village and see its unique church of the 12th cent. You will also see one of the largest radio telescopes in Europe there and have dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 6: After breakfast you will travel to Khor-Virab, the monastery of the 4th-7th cent. and walk along the Hrazdan River canyon.
Day 7: After breakfast you will visit Vernissagein Yerevan, popular folk crafts fair. You will be able to see and buy hand-made ceramic, stone, wooden goods as well as jewelry and paintings. Free time in the evening.
Day 8: Breakfast and departure.
