Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival, transfer and accommodation.
Day 2: Trip to Garni and Geghard after breakfast. Garni is the temple of Sun, built in the first century, A.D. You will walk along the canyon, by the beautiful columnar basalt and the stone bridge of the 9th century over the Azat River. Geghard is the monastery of the 11th-13th centuries. You will see cave-monastery, cave-dwellings and a beautiful landscape, have box lunch at the bank of the river.
Trip to Yerevan. You will visit: Victory Park, Tsitsernakaberd, Genocide Museum, Park after Komitas, Pantheon, Theater Square, Opera. You will see Komitas, Saryan, Sayat-Nova and Tamanyan monuments, Matenadaran and State University. You will walk along the boulevard to the Vardan Mamikonyan Square and the Republic Square. You will visit the winery and the brandy factory, see the Hrazdan canyon and cross the Kievyan and New bridges. Dinner.
Day 3: Breakfast. Trip to Echmiadzin. You will visit the Cathedral, the Cathedral museum, the St. Gayane Church, the St. Hripsime Church, the Metsamor – Armenian ancient history museum, and Sardarapat. Lunch in a museum restaurant. After lunch you will also visit the Ethnographic and Folklore Museum and Zvartnots museum. Dinner in Yerevan. Various activities, like theater, museum, cinema, disco.
Day 4: Breakfast. Trip to lake Sevan. You will visit the Airivank medieval temple, see the army chapel and Noraduz khachqars. You will have lunch with Sevan’s white-fish, take a bathe in Sevan and, on demand, have a trip on yacht or boat.
Day 5: Early breakfast. Trip to Dilijan. Accommodation in a rest house. You will visit the Aghartsin canyon and the medieval monastery complex Aghartsin. You will also travel to mountainous lake Parzlich and have lunch in a tavern at the bank of the lake. You will visit Goshavank, see the medieval Christian monument and Mhitar Gosh's tomb.
Day 6: Breakfast. Trip to Agstef River canyon. You will pass ethnographic villages Fioletovo and Lermontovo, inhabited by Molokan people (Mormons). You will travel to Vanadzor town and after a box lunch in the Debet River canyon you will visit Alaverdi town. You will also visit Sanain, the monastery complex of the10th-13th cent., the medieval fortress Kayan of the 9th cent. and Haghpat of the 10th cent. You will have dinner and spend the night in farmers’ houses in a 17 centuries old mountainous Armenian village Haghpat.
Day 7: Breakfast. Trip to Shnokh village, one of the most interesting and largest ethnographic villages of Armenia. People living here still use traditional terraced agriculture, national ways of agricultural products treatment, popular crafts. You will have lunch in a mountain forest on the bank of the stream near the church of the 6th century. After the lunch you will travel to Odzun village and visit the monastery complex of the 5th-13th centuries. You will have a walk on mountains with alpine flora and be present at the traditional Armenian repast in a villager’s house. Dinner and accommodation in Stepanavan.
Day 8: Breakfast. Excursion around Stepanavan. You will see the Dzoraget River canyon, architectural monuments of Stepanavan and the medieval fortress Loriberd of the 7th-13th cent. You will have lunch inside the fortress and return to the excursion center.
Day 9: Breakfast. Trip to Spitak, Riya-Taza (idolatry), Aparan reservoir, Byurakan. Accommodation in a rest house.
Day 10: Breakfast. Trip to Amberd fortress of the 7th cent. You will travel to mountainous lake Qarilich, which is located at 3207 meters above the sea level. You will visit Tegher village and have dinner in an ethnic restaurant.
Day 11: Trip to Ashtarak. You will see the medieval bridge over the Kasakh River, the ancient water mill, the churches and temples of Ashtarak. You will also visit Saghmosavan, Oghannavan and have lunch in a restaurant in the Kasakh River canyon. You will return to Yerevan and have free time and dinner in the evening.
Day 12: Free day. On demand we can arrange visit to National Gallery, Matenadaran. Historic Museum, Paradjanov's Museum and Erebuni fortress. Grand dinner in the evening.
Day 13: Departure.
