Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival, transfer and accommodation.
Day 2: Trip to Garni and Geghard after breakfast.
Garni is the temple of Sun, built in the first century, A.D. You will walk along the canyon, by the beautiful columnar basalt and the stone bridge of the 9th century over the Azat River. Geghard is the monastery of the 11th-13th centuries. You will see cave-monastery, cave-dwellings and a beautiful landscape, and have box lunch at the bank of the river.
Return to Yerevan. You will visit: Victory Park, Tsitsernakaberd, Genocide Museum, Park after Komitas, Pantheon, Theatre Square, Opera. You will see Komitas, Saryan, Sayat-Nova and Tamanyan monuments, Matenadaran and State University. You will walk along the boulevard to Vardan Mamikonyan Square and the Republic Square. You will visit the winery and the brandy factory, see the Hrazdan canyon and cross the Kievyan and New bridges. Dinner. Discos, theaters, cinema, etc. in the evening.
Day 3: Breakfast. Trip to Echmiadzin. You will visit the Cathedral, the Cathedral museum, the St. Gayane Church, the St. Hripsime Church, the Metsamor – Armenian ancient history museum, and Sardarapat. Lunch in a museum restaurant. After lunch you will also visit the Ethnographic and Folklore Museum and Zvartnots museum. Dinner.
Day 4: Breakfast. Trip to Southern Armenia. You will visit Khor Virap, the monastery of the 4th-7th centuries, Noravank, the monastery of the 13th-14th centuries. After box lunch you will travel to Eghegnadzor and see the medieval bridge near Agarakadzor village. Accommodation and dinner in a hotel.
Day 5: Breakfast. Trip to Spitakavor. You will visit the Gladzor University of the 12th cent., St. Sargis, Agavnadzor village of the 10th cent., the ancient agricultural center of Daralagyaz. You will have a bathe in the Arpa River, have picnic and trip to Vayk and Jermuk. Accommodation and dinner in a rest house.
Day 6: Breakfast. Trip around Jermuk. You will visit water gallery and waterfall, and take a bathe in hot springs. You will visit Gndevank monastery, dated 936 in Gndevaz, water reservoir, canyon, have box lunch and travel to Qarahundj, the ancient stone observatory. Accommodation and dinner in a hotel in Sisian.
Day 7: Breakfast. Trip to the Shaki waterfall. After box lunch you will visit Tatev monastery, medieval settlement Alidzor and New Alidzor. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel in Goris.
Day 8: Breakfast. Trip to Khndzoresk, the cave settlement of the Bronze Age. You will see the tomb of Mhitar Sparapet, the Armenian legendary commander. You will have lunch with “khorovats”, Armenian BBQ, visit the ethnographic village Qarahundj and look at the Vorotan River canyon (1200meters deep) from the observation deck.
Day 9: After breakfast you will travel to Bartsravan village. You will visit forest monastery and Karmrakan. After lunch in a local tavern you will visit David-bek fortress of the 18th century and Vaganavank temple Dinner and accommodation in a rest house in Kapan.
Day 10: After breakfast you will return to Yerevan, have dinner in a restaurant and free time in the evening
Day 11: Free day. On your demand we can arrange visit to National Gallery, Matenadaran, Historic Museum, Paradjanov's museum, Erebuni fortress, etc. Grand dinner in the evening.
Day 12: Breakfast. Trip to lake Sevan. You will visit the Airivank medieval temple, see the army chapel and Noraduz khachqars. Lunch with Sevan's white-fish. You can also have a bathe in Sevan, yavht and row. Return to Yerevan and dinner.
Day 13: Departure.
