It's a chance to see so much more than usual. We slow the whole experience down and spend time not just seeing animals, but learning a bit of what goes on. The trip is ideal for birders and for photographers.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Overnight in Windhoek (Namibia’s capital city). We will meet for drinks at sundown for a short tour briefing. Dinner at your guest house. Overnight at one of Windhoek’s best guesthouses.
Day 2: Overnight Onguma (Etosha National Park). Breakfast at your guesthouse. We meet right after breakfast. After shopping we depart for Etosha. Lunch is done at a restaurant on the road to Etosha. This day is a very long day’s drive, but there are usually some birding opportunities where raptors or other Namibian birds are found on the telephone and fence poles along the way. We arrive late afternoon at Onguma. There is a chance to look around the camp, familiarizing ourselves with the vegetation and some of the birds.
Day 3: Overnight Onguma (Etosha National Park). Today we wake up early for sun-up and head out for an adventurous day in the park. Experience some of the best of the eastern part of the park. Breakfast and Lunch are flexible on this day, in order to take maximum advantage of game viewing opportunities. Dinner and overnight at Onguma. Overnight Onguma.
Day 4: Overnight Halali (Etosha National Park). Breakfast at Onguma. Depart for Halali, doing a game drive all the way. Lunch at Halali. Afternoon game drive. Dinner at Halali.
Day 5: Overnight at Halali. Today we explore this part of Etosha on game drives. We will do some birding on foot in the camp and sit and enjoy the waterhole at Halali both in the day time and at night. All meals at Halali. Overnight at Halali.
Day 6: Overnight at Okaukuejo. Breakfast at Halali. Game drive all the way to Okaukuejo. Lunch at Okaukuejo. Game drive in that area. Dinner at Okaukuejo. After dinner we spend time at the world famous Okaukuejo waterhole.
Day 7: Overnight at Ongava. Breakfast at Okaukuejo. Game drive in Etosha. Depart for Ongava. Lunch at Ongava. Afternoon Game drive at Ongava. Dinner at Ongava, overlooking the waterhole. Overnight at Ongava.
Day 8: Overnight at Hobatere (west of Etosha). Breakfast at Ongava. Depart for Hobatere. Lunch in a small restaurant in Kamanjab. Afternoon activity at Hobatere.
Day 9: Overnight at Hobatere Lodge (west of Etosha). Today is spent doing activities around Hobatere. There are great opportunities for birding and photography around Hobatere. All meals are at Hobatere Lodge. Overnight Hobatere Lodge.
Day 10: Overnight at Okonjima (Home of the Africat Foundation). Breakfast at Hobatere. Depart for Okonjima. Lunch at a restaurant on the road. Afternoon activity at Okonjima. Dinner at Okonjima. Overnight at Okonjima.
Day 11: Overnight in Windhoek. Breakfast at Okonjima. Morning activity at Okonjima. Depart for Windhoek. Lunch in Windhoek. Tour ends when we drop you off at your guest.
