Mt. Kailash it is one of the 3 pilgrimage sites in the area, known collectively as Kangri Tsosum; the other two are Ponri Ngaden and Lake Manasarover. All are said to be at the heart of the ancient Shangshung kingdom, the supposed land of origin of pre-Buddhist sect Bonpos.

Mt. Kailash is their soul mountain (lari), which they also call Yungdrung Gu Tse (the Nine story Swastika Mountain). This is the very place where it is stated that the sects legendary founder, Tonpa Shenrab, descended from heaven to earth. Lord Shiva both the creator and destroyer of life is believed by Hindus to reside in the holy mountain.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival Day (Kathmandu). Arrive Tribhuwan International Airport at Kathmandu. Upon arrival, meet our representative who will assist you to transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day for leisure activities. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing. Morning breakfast in the Hotel. After breakfast, we start our day visiting Pashupatinath Temple, The holiest of the Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 3: Kathmandu - Kodari - Zhangmu Nyalam (130 kms/ 7 - 8 hours). Early morning breakfast in the Hotel and we start for Kodari border (Border of Nepal). Complete Nepal custom formalities. Take a short walk to The Friendship Bridge and drive uphill to Zhangmu (9300 ft) which is the main entrance of Tibet, In Zhangmu, you will be received by our guide and help you complete all custom & immigration formalities. Then transfer to Nyalam (12500 ft) that would take almost 3 hour drive. Overnight at Hotel Nyalam or similar.

Day 4: Nyalam- rest day. Spend the whole day at Nyalam for acclimatization. On this day we carry out acclimatization training as well. Overnight at Hotel Nyalam or similar.

Day 5: Nyalam - Saga (4600 m) 230 km. 8 hours drive. Morning breakfast in the Hotel. After breakfast drive to Saga which will take almost 7 hrs (240 km). During the drive, you will pass through the first highest pass of Lalung La Pass (5000 m) and encounter superb view of Himalayas and natural beauty. After arriving to Saga, check in to local Guest House and overnight.

Day 6: Saga - Paryang (4750 m) 240 km, 8 hours drive. After breakfast drive to Paryang which will take almost 7 - 8 hours (240 km). During the drive you can enjoy distance view beautiful snow capped mountains. Upon arrival check in to Hotel Paryang or similar and overnight.

Day 7: Paryang - Chhu Gompa 280 kms/ 10 hours. Morning breakfast in the Hotel. Circumambulation of Mansarovar This is the day we reach to the point from where we get the first darshan of Mt. Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. Then we start the Parikarma of the lake Mansarovar to reach Chhu Gompa which is on the banks of Lake Mansarovar. On the way we complete most of the circumambulation of Lake Mansarovar. We stay overnight at the Hotel.

Day 8: Chhu Gompa - Darchen 45 kms, 2 hrs Drive. After breakfast, we depart for Darchen. This is a small village close to Mount Kailash. Overnight stay in Hotel at Darcen. Mentally we prepare ourselves for the Parikarma of Mount Kailash next day. Those who op out of the Parikarma stays back at Darchen for two nights. Overnight in the Guest House.

Day 9: Darchen - Tarboche (8 kms, 30 minutes Drive) - Dirapuk (18 kms, 5 hrs trek). The day of the Parikarma. In the moerning we drive for Tarboche from where we start our trek to dirapuk. We stay overnight at the Tented Camp.

Day 1: Dirapuk - Zutrulphuk (22 kms, 9 hrs trek). In the Morning we start our trek from Dirapuk to Zutrulphuk. We trek through Drolma La Pass which is at an altitude OD 18600 ft, the highest point in course of our journey. This is the most challenging day for pilgrimage. We stay overnight at the Tented Camp.

Day 11: Zutrulphuk - Zongdui (6kms, 4 hrs Trek) – Horche (40 Kms, 2 hrs Drive). In the morning breakfast, we start our trek from Zutrulphuk which is about 6 kms to Zongdui the pick up point. From here we drive to Horche, which happens to be a small village near the lakes northeast corner. On the way we complete the remaining circumambulation of Lake Mansarovar. We relax overnight at the tented Camp.

Day 12: Horche - Paryang 280 km, 10/ 11 hrs. In the morning we begin our journey back and drive down to Paryang. We stay Hotel Paryang or similar for overnight.

Day 13: Saga - Nyalam (3750 m) 240 kms, 6/ 7 hrs. Morning breakfast in the Guest House. Drive to Nyalam which will take almost 7 hours. Overnight in Hotel Nyalam or similar.

Day 14: Paryang - Saga (4600 m) 255 kms, 6/ 7 hrs. Morning breakfast in the Hotel. Drive to Saga which will take almost 7 hours. Overnight at the Guest House.
